3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Malty aroma with a little bit of cocoa. Malt forward flavor. Medium body. Not too complex but a decent beer.
On tap at New Albanian, pours a deep dark brown with a reddish tinge and a small beige head. Aroma brings out English malt, light burnt notes, and toasted crusty bread. Flavour is along the same lines, with burnt crusty bread and English malt. Not exactly true to style, but at least it’s rather assertive. Decent. piscator34 (2673) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - OCT 8, 2017
Draft at the brewpub. Black in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas of mild coffee, stone fruit, and pale malt. Flavors of light roast coffee, dark chocolate, and yellow plum. Cleansing mineral finish. Decent amount of body considering the alcohol level. Block (3222) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - AUG 25, 2017
Backlog entry. A nice and well rounded beer. Close to style and as expected. rondphoto (4508) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - JUL 17, 2016
on tap @ New Albanian / New Albany IN --- Clear dark r4uby brown, beige head cover, dots of lace. Taste is dark malt with light caramel. Light carbonation is added on the swallow, then light hops in a finish that slowly slides back to caramel. This is a good all-night brew. 574deadzone (1420) - North Central, Indiana, USA - NOV 1, 2015
Another long time want. Nailed it. Pours a dark, dark brown to black with a voluminous huge froth of mocha head that settles to leave a wall of tight lacing. Nose involves toasted malt, woody hops, and some light roasted coffee. Lightly sweet, somewhat bitter. Light, airy body, creamy texture, soft carb, with a toasty toward dry finish. Another damn near perfect session brew that I wish was on draft in the north part of the state on occasion. Thanks Broad Ripple for having this as a guest tap.

Brown pour. Smoky, but nothing else
Not bad, but nothing to look for. Looking for 75 characters. bubblehouse (1556) - louisville, Kentucky, USA - AUG 1, 2014
Not one of the better NABC beers. No aroma and tastes a little flat. Still drinkable at the flea. theisti (4237) - Kansas, USA - SEP 23, 2013
5 oz sample draft at the New Albanian Pizzeria and Public House in New Albany, Indiana. The pour is a darker copper golden with a smallish off white head. The aroma is roast, nuttiness, grass and a bit pine. Nice soft, full, natural nose. The taste has all of the elements of the nose balanced and integrated nicely together. Lightly sweet, nutty, grassy pine, and soft roast to the finish. Fresh, a bunch of character for a mild. The palate has great body, light, easy drinking. Fresh, clean and really tasty. Great mild - highlight of the night.
