I feel like a total boob for picking up this one. I saw Eastern Front and Russian Imperial on the label and I was all like "yup." Got back to the hostel and pours into cup and then I am all like WTF its goddamn golden. Then I look at the label again and see the work pilsner and am all like, "I could have just bought Baltika and saved like $5." Any, its pretty much down hill from there. wet sloppy grain nose, metal. taste is bitter and skunked. If I would have known would have bought 2 thunderfoot or some other malt liquor for a few bones. I have not completed that task in some time. FML.

Really lacking in flavor. Lacking aroma. Monkey Wrench10 year party. Devo cover band.

hotstuff (5158) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - APR 16, 2014
Rated on 8-09-2011. This bottled beer pours a very small off-white head with a short retention, hazy golden body, fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is bready malt, citrus hops, fruity, and crisp. The taste is lightly bitter, bready malt, citrus hops, and a semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel is lively and this beer is medium bodied. The 9% alcohol is well hidden in the flavor of this beer. The flavor of this beer just did not do it for me as the various flavors just did not seem to meet up very well.

Chudwick (3207) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - AUG 25, 2013
bomber - pours cloudy deep gold with huge ivory head (it’s protruding from the top of my glass by an inch!). Nose is full of foam, so I will skip that step. Flavor adds citrus, hay, and grass. it’s a very playful experience. Bittersweet in the strong range. Latent earthy notes. Exceeded my expectations by a mile.

2/19/2011: NABC Elsa Von Horizon Imperial Pilsner... Aroma: Tropical fruits in the nose. Appearance: Thick and frothy white head; turbid gold color. Flavor: Sweet pale malts, slightly doughy; mild to moderate bitterness; fruity (a bit tropical) hops. Palate: Medium to medium-full body; slick and slightly oily. Overall: Pretty good Imperial Pils.

Draught sample (8% ABV; IBU) at New Albanian Brewing Company in New Albany, IN. Rating #50 for this beer.

Dogbrick (13010) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 7, 2013
Sample at the HSC July 4th beer tasting. Hazy golden color with a medium fizzy white head that burns away steadily. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops and grainy malt. Medium to full body with flavors of herbal hops, biscuit malt and fruit. The finish is moderately bitter with a peppery hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

shrubber85 (11408) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - MAY 17, 2013
Draft. Orange, hay, and light caramel malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet orange caramel malt and moderately bitter herbal lemon peel flavor. Very nice and drinkable.

3.9
ContemplateBeer (2089) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAY 4, 2013
Aroma of hay, some light red grape, moderate noble hop profile. Appearance is brilliant gold with foamy white head and moderate carbonation. Flavor matches the nose with some added toast to combat the high noble profile; the bitterness is not as bracing as I’d expect. Palate is medium, creamy and soft. Liked this quite a bit.
