COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Excessive hopping rendered moot a modest plan to brew a seasonal winter warmer, and since the original batch was brewed on Election Day, 2002, Elector continued to make democracy pointless and redefine the Imperial Red category.

English & American malts; Cascade & Galena hops; London yeast. Dry-hopped. O.G. 1072

Tallahassee, Fl - Earth Fare - 22 oz bomber. Pours a dark copper, slightly murky with a thin off-white head that leaves a thin trail of lacing. Aroma has some passion fruit essence, some over excessive crystal malt. Heavy flavor with a lot of everything. plenty of crystal malt maltiness, some hints of molasses, just a touch of sweet citrus, and a finish of sweet cake mix. Mouthfeel has a nice thickness to it. Just a little too much of everything though.

5 oz sample draft at the New Albanian Pizzeria and Public House in New Albany, Indiana. The pour is a slightly hazed copper reddish with a light tan head. The aroma is big malt grain, warm cereal. The taste is big on the grain, cereal fresh, lightly caramel along with a bright, almost chemical astringent bitterness. The palate is medium bodied, soft carbonation, and a bit of alcohol heat on the dry finish particularly as the warmed. This was well made though not totally my type of beer.

Aroma is very dry grainy and roasted. I feel like I just opened a bag of grains. Taste is a well balanced bitterness with a dark malty flavor.

Brewdork (228) - Sanford, Florida, USA - MAY 27, 2013
Pours deep reddish-orange with dense white head. Faint aroma of toasted grain. Nicely balanced roasted malt flavor with a bitter hop finish. Just what I want from a red.

Nephilium (1818) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - MAR 31, 2013
Quickly fading caramel aroma, with a touch of hops. Pours a clear reddish-amber, with a thin off-white head. Interesting interplay between the hops and the malts. There’s some bitterness there, as well as a strange astringency. A bit of roasted flavor comes out in the finish. Much thinner body then the usual imperial reds. An interesting beer, not sure if I’ll get it again.

RABinCO (1511) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - MAR 12, 2013
Bomber. Pours a deep red with a cream head. Thin lacing. Aroma is nearly all cereal. Taste is hugely malty, lots of cereal with a slight hop bite. Not my style.

DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 17, 2013
On tap at Cincinnati Winter Beer Fest (CWBF) 2013. Clear amber color. Good big khaki head. Good lace. Medium / bigger body. More dry. Smooth texture. Kind of spicy hops. Not as red as most "red IPAs" though. Bitter taste. Interesting bready spicy malt profile. Solid stuff
