4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Beuatiful red red red brown pour with biege head. Carmalized citrus aroma. Taste follows with s bitter bite and some hops.
On tap at New Albanian, pours a cloudy amber orange with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out lots of resinous hops upfront, followed by caramel bready malt and some sticky toffee. Flavour is along the same lines, with resinous hops galore upfront, and a big caramel bready malt backbone. Excellent interplay between the hops and malt. Chewy and balanced. Really good. bytemesis (9516) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - APR 5, 2016
Tap. Pours clear reddish orange, small beige head, good residual and lacing. Aroma is piney hops, caramel. Flavor is medium sweet, full bitter, pine, floral and perfume hops, caramel malt. Medium body, some acidity. Lingering bitterness. Meh Cybercat (6344) - Georgia, USA - JUN 29, 2015
Comes out of the bottle slightly hazy dark amber with a thick and fine-bubbled buff head. Aroma has malty and fruity components with a snip of hops. Flavor has strong malty and hoppy components with fruity and cloves hints. Mouthfeel has decent viscosity and fizz, and finishes mainly spicy wood. A good elector indeed. Draft/growler from the brewery. Not sure what they’re going for here, but it’s good. A darker amber beer, almost brown, this has a sturdy palate. Nice hoppy flourish in there, but an almost brown ale, malty base. Good on a cool night. (#5880, 12/3/2014) Homer321 (5250) - Melboring, Florida, USA - OCT 16, 2014
Bomber thanks to Ray. Nose is very piney, earthy, very pungent, strong hop aroma. some honey malt sweetness and caramel in the nose too. Taste is slightly thin, watery and flat initially. Seems like a watered down barleywine honestly. could benefit from more malt backbone and carbonation.

Poured from a bomber into a snifter glass cloudy amber with a thin head.
Aroma is fruity malty very subtle hops.
Flavor is overly bready sweet caramel with a bitter finish. Can’t place what is off for me with this brew. It doesn’t seem balanced from start to finish. Slightly below the average imperial red-disappointed. ContemplateBeer (2097) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - AUG 11, 2014
Aroma: Malty nuttiness with caramel; a touch of mild citrus. Appearance: Copper red with a patch of bone head. Flavor: A little more butterscotch than caramel; citrus presence builds toward the finish, but can only be described as "light" at best. Palate: Medium body, tacky texture, soft carbonation, long finish. Overall: Rather shocked I hadn’t rated this, but maybe it’s been that long. A maltier imperial amber that’s pretty clean, but not too exciting. BrianPetrie (8) - Pelham, USA - AUG 7, 2014 does not count
I am an ale enthusiast. You cannot taste any alcohol sweetness at all. Malty offering with complexity and depth. An absolute treat! Aurelius (5662) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUL 10, 2014
Woody, toasty, toffee, nicely bittered. European style bomber, bad label. Aroma is actually a little muted. Dryish, the bitterness really hits you on the back and sides of the tongue. Medium body, long woody finish with some grass and raisin. Not quite what I expected, but decent. New Leaf Market. MartinT (10155) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 13, 2014
My Bottom Line:
Toasted bread and caramel wade in lax residual sugars, as peppery hop bitterness balances out.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam shrouds the cloudy red.
-Fruity touches are also felt.
-I have no idea if this bottle was close to being fresh as there is no date on it anywhere.
-The hop character is rather muddled.
-This is on the sweet side for my tastes in the style.
