Bottle @ RVA 22nd. Floaties, orangey, decent head. Oaky and vanilla-y with some peach. Really sweet then hoppy. Cloying. Drake (14045) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 31, 2015
Bomber shared by maniac at the 22nd RVA Gathering. Hazy amber, thin fizzy off-white head, decent retention. Aroma of strong malts, caramel and toffee, piney citrus hops, mild oak. The taste is bitter citrus, tropical hops, pale malt, caramel, mild oak. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness seymour (2076) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - MAY 11, 2015
Tasted on draft at 2015 St. Louis Microfest in a willi becher glass. It poured a mostly clear deep amber colour with thin but persistent white foam. Strong caramelly malt backbone supporting an even stronger hop load, fresh citrusy/resiny traits not as degraded as you’d expect after barrel-aging. Definite hardwood, vanilla, boozy aspects. Medium-full body and carbonation, well-rounded mouthfeel, complex aftertaste. An interesting fusion of uber-malty West Coast IPA plus oak aging. Tasty stuff. patrick767 (4063) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - DEC 24, 2014
sampled at Mad Anthony’s Oktobeerfest - The oak dominates the aroma of this hazy orange brew. The flavor is also heavy on the oak. Bitterness is high though not especially high for the style. I don’t know if I’ve ever said the wood is overdone in a beer, but it might be here. It’s still good. I just think it could be great with a little more hops character and less wood.

Draft to taster. Looks good; a very slightly hazy golden orange with white lacing. Smells solid; a well-balanced hop profile with notes of oak and a touch of sweetness. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. A little maltier though. Still, enjoyable. cbfobes (2885) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - JAN 18, 2014
On tap, pours a hazy amber orange with a thick off white head, the aroma is very oaky, tons of vanilla and sweetness with a kick of hops as well, the flavor again starts off very oaky and sweet but the hops and citrus show in the finish as well, for only being oak chips this thing really took to it, almost over the top. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 12, 2013
On tap at GTMW 2013. Amber with a creamy tan lasting crown. Aroma is floral and oaky with some caramel and citrus underneath. Taste of oak, citrus, vanilla with a moderate bitter ending. shrubber85 (11508) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - SEP 4, 2013
Draft. Orange, vanilla, and citrus peel aroma. Slightly hazy golden yellow with minimal head. Sweet orange/tangerine and moderately bitter orange peel flavor. Very nicely blended. Tasty. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - NOV 23, 2012
Tap at Bank Street location. White grape, alcohol, and light soapy aroma. Amber with a small off-white head. Light woody vanilla, soapy flavor. I would never have guessed I was drinking a DIPA, as I only got an extremely subtle herbal hops in the finish.
