bhensonb (15609) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 7, 2012
Bomber from Liz. Pours very dark brown with a slight, transient beige head. Aroma is sort of a reminder of some sort of English breakfast dark malty thing. It has cola aspects and seems just a bit salty. It’s pretty tasty.

Tmoney99 (14854) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 17, 2010
Sample at IBG 2010 Winterfest. Poured black color with medium brown creamy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium roasted coffee malt aroma. Medium to full body with a dry smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium toasted malt flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Interesting solid brew.

Dogbrick (13547) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 14, 2012
Brownish-black pour with a medium frothy tan head that diminishes steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, coffee and a bit of dark fruit. The finish is roasty with a short coffee aftertaste. Decent overall.

deyholla (12021) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - FEB 11, 2010
Sampled from a growler at the 2010 Indiana Winterfest. Poured a dark brown with a brown head. Aroma was full of roasted malts and an undertone of chocolate and alcohol. Flavor was similar with the chocolate being a bit more present, but roasted malts still being the main note.

Bottle. Dusty wood, chocolate malt, and bitter herb aroma. Very dark brown color with giant, explosive tan head. Sweet chocolate malt, wood, and moderately bitter herbal hops flavor. Very tasty.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of drfabulous. Thanks! Deep brown/black appearance with a small brown head that dissipates quickly. Toasty, dark malty, anise, candy sugar, chocolate aroma. Anise, black licorice, dark chocolate, light coffee, roasty malty, light bodied flavor. Ok.

alexsdad06 (10640) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUL 3, 2011
22 oz. bottle from Crown. Pours a dark brown almost black color with a medium sized fine beige head. The aroma has a fair amount of roasted malt, chocolate, hints of wood, black coffee and a touch of smoke. The flavor has a nice maltiness to it with chocolate, roast and black coffee being the main focus. There is a hint of smoke to the flavor. Moderate bitterness toward the back adds another dimension. Medium-full bodied and smooth drinking. This exceeded expectations.
