Brownish head with a amber body. Almost no aroma. A little taste of hops and malt. Nice aftertaste that lasts a while.

amber beers are invariably supposed to be "balanced" and whatnot, and this beer is no exception. however, let’s be honest with ourselves here, no one drinking a beer is looking to get "balanced" by it...

From a 12 fl. oz. bottle no. 4123114080148. The pour is definitely amber with just about no head and light lacing. The aroma is fresh malts and slightly hopped. The mouthfeel is adequate. The flavor is about a 50-50 balance of malts and fresh hops. Slight aftertaste. It was not as good as I remembed it when I first had it in the late ’80’s but it was still OK.

willblake (2654) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - JAN 14, 2004
tasted a long time ago (95/6?)...Bottle. Kind of reddish amber color and large head with giant soapy bubbles that flee the scene quickly. Smells malty, mildly citrus sweet, and a touch hoppy. Pretty full-bodied, but strange medicinal acidic and rancid buttery taste behind the floral and fruit. Dry, acid/bitter finish. Not great, but cheeseburger makes it better.

Bottled from local Bodega,A nice malty flavor dark color, very easy to drink. crisp finish,a good everyday beer

Bottled. This says it was brewed in Saratoga Springs, not Utica, which makes me wonder if Olde Saratoga/Mendocino is doing the brewing/owns this now. Pours with pretty much no head, darkish brown-gold-amber. Aroma is syrupy, malty, sweet, bitter. Not much to the flavor, just a vegetal malty bitterness with a spoiled milk finish. Blech. Not really worth drinking at all.

Orange/copper color. Average head. Aroma of Saaz and malt. Mild to a fault. Thin and unimpressive.

this is an alright upstate ny beer much better than a genny light, but that isn’t saying much. i think this beer is a little overrated. but still has decent flavor to it

light amber colour, nice foam, caramel aroma, something unpleasant in the taste

Pours orangey with a decent white head. Smells malty with some citrus and pine hops. Taste is lightly malty with some rosey elements.
