Great very hazy coloured light copper and orange/peach coloured body with almost no head at all, along with a few bubbles rising from the side and bottom of the glass. Aroma of very fragrant and grassy, dry yeast quality with citrus, hay, apples, bread, coriander seed, curacao, white pepper and even some canned corn noticeable, but nice and the yeast strain is very evident here. Medium-bodied; Assertive dry and wheatie flavour up front with a large grassy and herbal element showing some hops, a lot of hay, grain and breadie flavours as well along with a noticeable and smooth sweetness, mostly from caster sugar, but some of the curacao is around here as well. Aftertaste refined, very dry and showing some nice wheat and light spice notes with the coriander seed and yeast flavours by far the strongest. Overall, a nice and robust beer starting initially with the yeast flavours, but moving around to the finish and complexity make this a nice option and a well-rounded Belgie made here in America! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 08-June-2016 for US$3,99 sampled at home in Washington almost exactly a year later on 19-June-2017, with a date on the bottle to ’Enjoy By’ 13-March-2017...whoops. Enjoyed one month after best before date. The swedish importer ignores the date set by the brewer by putting on their own label. Thats just so annoying! Golden color, small floaters, white head. Sweet and ripe fruity nose, carrots, estery, sugar, floral, malty and spicy notes. Heavy fruity esters taste, cloying, light spicy, caramel, hints of malt and phenols. Medium body, soft carbonation. Flower, caramel and banana in the scent. The taste is the same but maybe a little watery. Good bust that fills the whole mouth for a long time. Good beer but not much more. Bottle. Light golden, lively white head. Prominent yeast esters impart a fruitiness to an otherwise earthy-herbal-grassy profile. Kind of an odd beer all around. And the 7% doesn’t help this out in the drinkability department. LLaurin (550) - Motala, SWEDEN - APR 6, 2017
Golden light with nose in small character and taste is weak but belgian yeast. Palate is almost only yeast but with some freshness. olsvammel (7331) - Örebro, SWEDEN - APR 1, 2017
Bottle from Systembolaget. Fruity and light yeasty spicy smell with some apples. Similar taste. Nice and refreshing.
