Pours quite dark with nice tan head. Short head retention, some lacing. Some smoky nose, tart and roasty notes. Light to medium body, average carbonation, some crispy texture. Taste is roasty, some sour, smoked (subtle), dry aftertaste. Quite enjoyable.

Pours a really dark brown with a small offwhite head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of burnt cereals, ash and slight grapes. Taste is more wheat, smoke, ash and other husky cereals. pours unclear light brown with a small reviving light beige cap offering some lacing. dusty cigarettes, toasted lightly torrefied grains, burnt caramel and toffee, ashes, smoked wheat, some berries, clean. moderate carbonation, light body - oily; semi-sweet woodsy and lightly smoked finish. nice gratzer!

Aroma is of toasted malt, earthy-mineral notes, spruce, muddy, roasty notes, smokey notes and moderate spiciness. Taste is muddy, mineral-earthy, toasted malts, roasted malt and mild roast bitterness. Light body, a bit watery. Medium carbonation. Thin. Muddy finish. Starting to show some signs of oxidation. On tap at Culpeppers. Nice smoked malt aroma. Caramel with a lot of molasses and coffee. Dark brown-black opaque with creamy tan lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. From a 22 oz bottle. Pours a very dark mahogany black with a tan head. Good lacing. Nose of roasted malts with a smoke earthiness. Light to medium body. Flavor is a dark smokiness with some unusual almost must tastes. Different but OK.
