3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: AUG 17, 2011 Bottle. The pour was a deep rich black with a reddish hue, it had a small creamy off-white head that dissipated almost fully although it did have some fair lacing.
The aroma was heavy of roasted chocolate malts a light sweet doughy yeast and a touch of resin hops with a hint of caramel and smidgen of coffee.
It tasted slightly sweet with a nice hint of chocolate in the beginning and finished with a nice bitter sweet flavor that had hints of chocolate, caramel and an had an ever so slight presence of dried fruit and hops at the end with the flavor fading quite fast.
Mouthfeel was medium to full in body with the texture being very creamy at first then becoming mildly dry with a flat carbonation.
Overall a very tasty brew, great for sitting around a fire on a cold night or having with dessert after dinner.
Pours dark brown from the bottle and leaves a foamy, off white head that lingers. Aroma is toast, chocolate, caramel. Taste is lightly sweet with some mild bitterness in the finish. Body is medium with a rich, creamy, roasted character. Overall very nice. FinnIckler (479) - GERMANY - JUL 6, 2017

On tap at Quaker Steak. Pours a lovely cola brown. Lighter nose of dry fruit and chocolate malted milk. Flavors of fig, chocolate and sight coffee. For a darker beer this has a pleasant light mouthfeel. Perfect for sipping or chugging. Hopper8 (178) - Holland, Michigan, USA - JUL 3, 2017
It’s a good beer. It’s a beer I’d have again. It’s got the toasty malt mouthfeel and flavor of a Porter and Stout with the light body of a lager. There is flavor here to have. ManVsBeer (10448) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUN 25, 2017
Bottle from IGA, Cookeville, Tennessee. Dark brown with a thin head. The dark lager malt is perhaps more stated in its nose than taste, but the latter has a nice smoothness about it.
