UPDATED: MAR 14, 2018 Aroma: Bottle - yeast fruity esters Caramel malty. There is a slight sweetness grim the malts, notes of corn, and yeast on the nose. A slight note of esters not distinguishing the smell but is lightly fruity. Not picking up any hops.
Appearance: Dark brown to dark auburn in color with clear body. The head is medium with good retention and rocky in appearance. The head color is caramel.
Flavor: strong malty flavor with a strong corny flavor present throughout. Toasted malts also present with a touch if rusted malts communicating light smoke in the finish. Not tasting hops in the flavor nor any lingering bitterness in the finish. Balance of beer is malty.
Not detecting any noticeable astringency
Mouthfeel: Medium to heavy body, with a medium carbonation. A medium alcohol warming
Overall: A very good beer but i am not sure the corn is correct for the style. I think the malt flavor is strong but balances the sweetness of the malts with overall flavor if the beer. thebeerbandit (80) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 8, 2018
After band practice while A had girls night w/ Sara & Ada.
Dark red-brown with a fluffy head.
Aroma is esters and dark/candied fruit. Raisins cloves & apricots.
Taste is initially sweet with yeast/cloves/esters up front. The fruitiness is still there along with some earthy notes. Sweetness gives way to spicy bitterness.
Medium sticky body. Both sweetness and the spicy bitterness linger.
Overall, this is really nice! Dark and rich with plenty to contemplate while keeping a high drinkability. Only the second I've had of this style but I really like it! UkrainPubCrawler (129) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 2, 2018

Pours into a tulip glass a dark auburn hue, with tiny sparsely spread bubbles. Aroma is subtle, tangy and yeasty. Flavor is bready and sweet, with a finish that has elements of walnuts and truffles. A surprisingly excellent Dubbel, reminds one that this brewery still makes unique and delicious beers... cheers New Belgium! williamstome (2102) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 1, 2018
