Accumulation White IPA was inspired by the white beauty that falls each winter from our Colorado sky. Flurries of Mosaic and Amarillo hops bring soft fruit and citrus flavor, followed by a layer of bitter. Piled high in IBUs, Accumulation will make your winter brighter.

Not at all what I was expecting. Plays much more like a traditional IPA than a white IPA. It lacks the typical Belgium yeast flavor that tends to dominate typical white IPA’s (Chainbreaker etc.), which I appreciate. Has the standard citrus notes that Mosaic and Amarillo provide. Bit of a spicy finish. Overall a very nice IPA regardless of classification that I would drink year round. Hope it becomes an annual release.

A bit nondescript for a White IPA, hitting the right notes for the style but not excelling in any of them. Crisp, bright wheat gives a mellow clove-tinged sweetness, and the fruitiness of the Mosaics are in full effect, providing orange, mango and blueberry with a mild floral undertone. Finishes with a modest bitterness laced with pine and bread. Not a classic but drinkable as hell.

Bottle from Trader Joes. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Nice Amarillo forward nose, overripe orange, light mango. Balanced b/t hop & malt. Muted tropical notes. Sweet w/ a light bitter finish.

marcus (10560) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAY 15, 2017
Bottle from Cap Tap. Pours clear gold with a thick white head and a citrus aroma. There is a light malt flavor with some citrus and a dry earthy finish. Moderately bitter and quite refreshing.

From bottle to glass. Pours a slightly cloudy light golden with white head. Aroma of citrus. Taste is hoppy and citrusy with slight bitter aftertaste. Good taste. Not too astringent.

LowBrau (140) - Tonawanda, New York, USA - APR 3, 2017
Pale colored, like hazy lemonade, with a small white head. Apple and citrus aromas, skunky and piney hops. Sweet, tart, and bitter balanced well against each other, a little too bitter, if anything.

November 22nd, 2014 - New Belgium’s tact to winter has always seemed a little different, and a little deviant. Instead of pushing out a slew of heavier beers, winter warms and brown, sweet brews, they go with lighter approaches. Take, for example, the Accumulation, which is a light gold beer with a slight haze and a slight transparency, topped with a centimeter and a half of mottled foam. To all appearances, this could be a pilsener, though the light hops in the aroma gives the style away. This scent is lightly floral but not too intense. The palate is light and refreshing, with a good carbonation that I’d sooner expect in a summer style beer. Notes of white grape and dandelion also play to the summer season, with a dankness in the aftertaste. It seems like New Belgium has borrowed some of the flavor of the famous San Diego IPA and plopped it into this beer, creating a miniature and milder version. All of this is quite unexpected, especially when I look out the window and confirm that it is still indeed cold, with lines of snow left on the ground. But it does work well when the house or cabin is warm and the body temperature hits summer highs.
