4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 14, 2012 Holy crap. This beer is amazing. On draft at toronado SD. I haven’t had an ipa in this realm of awesome since roger’s last stand. The hop flavors come at you hard without any of that bitterness. Just the right amount of maltiness for this style Of beer. If I wanted something less malty I would have ordered a Nelson.
Anyways, this gets extra points for being possibly the easiest "alpine" beer to get a hold of. Drink it fresh obviously. If the hops fade this beer won’t be nearly as tasty
The hops have either dropped some, or that first keg I had last week was some miracle batch. While not one of the most mindblowingly good IPAs I’ve ever had anymore, it is still amazing. I’m a hophead obviously, so I probably went overboard when I first had it. Either way, awesome IPA, if we weren’t so spoiled with Alpine already, I’d be seeking this out by the case.
22 oz bottle shared with Tmoney99 from backlog. Pours a clear dark golden/amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, juicy citrus, herbal and light resiny hops, sticky, flavor is nice, moderate bitterness, solid DIPA. JPDIPSO (6293) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAR 31, 2017
Clear golden colored with a small white head. Sweet and floral. Liked it better as time went by. 5/12 nuplastikk (6472) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 11, 2016
Tap at Sidedoor. Filtered orange-tan body. Nice broad hop depth. Cleanish hop depth. Foamy, glass-lacing white head. I get a lot of dry straw tones that make me think Amarillo, with a hintof new school citrus, the Simcoe, amont the classic NW piny grapefruit tones. Comes across quite strong, I don’t think I’d want anymore than the 10oz pour I had. A respectable enough IIPA, but a touch antiquated and not so exciting. Resinous hops. Alcohol notes. Clean, well made. Pastorchris (1) - Plainview, Alabama, USA - AUG 18, 2015 does not count
I really liked it when it was cold but as it set it became less and less appealing to me. GreatDane1632 (1174) - North Dakota, USA - JUL 20, 2015
Rated based on notes taken 2 Sep 2012 -- Didn’t have many notes other than I drank this at Flying Saucer and I really liked it.

Draught at Apex, Portland, as Alpine Super IPA sturmthis (1195) - Bavaria, GERMANY - FEB 14, 2015
Hazy golden color. Some manure aroma. Good pale malt backbone, lean, only lightly sweet, with strong resiny hopping and some citrus fruit.
Excellent, easy to drink in the category, yet bold and hop-forward.
On draft. Orange golden color with one finger head. Tropical fruit and slight pine aroma. Flavor is similar. Can get a taste of the alcohol. Pretty good. hopscotch (11305) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 12, 2015
Growler... Pours clear and amber with golden highlights and a small, creamy, white head. The aroma features a medley of tropical fruits and a note of orange blossom honey. Medium-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and jazzy carbonation. The flavor is juicy, fruity and bright, with a moderate measure of hoppy bitterness and a lesser ration of honey and biscuit sweetness. The mouth-watering finish is fruity and a touch sweet. Bottle courtesy of ctipping and/or landhoney! VertBaconStrips (2408) - Blerkablerka, VENEZUELA - FEB 8, 2015
Revo. Spicy, peach, pungent, sweet grapefruit, pine, chewy, tropics, just a massive avalanche of potent everything. Awesome. Just let it warm up! reebtogi (6403) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 7, 2015
12oz tulip glass on tap at Beer Revolution’s Edmonton location pours a golden color with a finger of white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is tropical fruits with some grapefruit and light grains. Taste is a grapefruit hop bitterness with a tropical fruit and caramel malty sweetness. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, a high quality DIPA that is well balanced and tasty and definitely worth tasting.
