COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named in honor of our founder Jeffs bike trip through Belgium, Fat Tire Amber Ale marks a turning point in the young electrical engineers home brewing. Belgian beers use a far broader palette of ingredients (fruits, spices, esoteric yeast strains) than German or English styles. Jeff found the Belgian approach freeing. Upon his return, Jeff created Fat Tire and Abbey Belgian Ale, (assuming Abbey would be his big gun). He and his wife, Kim traveled around sampling their homebrews to the public. Fat Tires appeal quickly became evident. People liked everything about it. Except the name. Fat Tire won fans is in its sense of balance: toasty, biscuit-like malt flavors coasting in equilibrium with hoppy freshness.

Pours a light amber. Aroma is muted but consists of bread and light florals. Taste is medium sweet and lightly bitter. Its very average, but still probably the best thing ever to come out of Colorado.

Underamped alcoholically (are those words?) but otherwise a solid amber ale. The bready malt aroma and sweet taste make Fat Tire easy going for multiple glasses.

It isnt a bad Amber ale, its really drinkable, and it is enjoyable to drink. There is a nice amount of nut, the hops add balance, and the malt is wonderful to smell. Its just a really easy drinker.

Clear golden orange with white head, lots of lacing. Aroma of sweet biscuit malts, mild. Taste is also lots of malts, more noticeably toasted than the aroma. Little bit of crisp, bitter hops to keep it interesting. Supremely refreshing beer that goes with almost any food and for any occasion.
