COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named in honor of our founder Jeff’s bike trip through Belgium, Fat Tire Amber Ale marks a turning point in the young electrical engineer’s home brewing. Belgian beers use a far broader palette of ingredients (fruits, spices, esoteric yeast strains) than German or English styles. Jeff found the Belgian approach freeing. Upon his return, Jeff created Fat Tire and Abbey Belgian Ale, (assuming Abbey would be his big gun). He and his wife, Kim traveled around sampling their homebrews to the public. Fat Tire’s appeal quickly became evident. People liked everything about it. Except the name. Fat Tire won fans is in its sense of balance: toasty, biscuit-like malt flavors coasting in equilibrium with hoppy freshness.

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2017 Possibly my favorite beer to pair with barbecue. It's flavor holds up against the flavor of the barbecue quite well.

Pours an orange-amber with a thick white head that leaves lacing. Nose is sweet malt with fruit. Taste is caramel sweetness with slight bitterness. Body is light. This and the white have less body than might be expected but this does not distract from their craft. 12 oz can BBY: 3/4/18

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear deep amber with a thick off white head that leaves lots of lace. Nose is light toffee and grain with some light fruit. Lightly sweet honey with very light roast. Slightly thin creamy mouth with average carbonation and a crisp finish.

very light with hardly any obvious flavor. weak at best but, if you are looking for a light beer on a hot summer day, this one isnt bad. decent for that one reason, every other measure places it at the end of the line.

Can (5,2%) from SB. Color is clear copper. Medium head. Aroma is malty and herbs with some fruity notes. Taste is ok and a mix of classic lager and amber ale but its a bit watery. An ok and pleasant beer.

Can from Systemet. Clear amber with strong off-white head. Red berries, red malt, something fruity. Fruity with lots of barley and yeast. Slightly floury and grainy palate. Not bad but not superb either.

Pint at seattle airport. On light side of amber. Yeasty. Hint of mango. Nothing special

Can. Amber color, slightly cloudy. Mostly clean aroma. Pretty good but doesn't taste like a Belgian beer. Very weak for such and doesn't have all the flavors typical of Belgian beers.

Clearish orange, small off white head. Aroma yeast and caramel. Light body. Fairly dry for the most part. Flavor malt and a touch of yeast. Not bad.

Very Dry, effervescent carbonation that really hits the tongue. definite Notes of raw dough. More sour than bitter. I let it warm up but found no improvement. Not bad but definitely not impressive. it would be OK to drink if nothing better is on tap, I certainly wouldn't buy a six pack of it Second tasting I thought it was pretty good. Didn't think it was so dry. Didn't think it was so effervescent. Didn't notice the sourness. Went down easy and I wanted another one ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
