Taste tested this alongside "Lineman’s Framboise Lambic". This one actually tasted like beer in comparison. Raspberry flavor is much subtler and still lets the tasty brown ale come through. The lindeman’s, on the other hand, tastes like soda pop IN COMPARISON. Lindemans is fruity, but not overly so and a damn good beer. But comparatively, the raspberries here are much more understated. Nice beer.
Originally rated on 1/8/2009. Very nice aroma, raspberries of course, it wasnt in your face overwhelming, but very noticeable. The body was a deep dark brown that was almost black, with a reddish hue. Flavor was raspberries at first then a malty finish. Overall it was a pretty nice beer. thin tan head with a definite pinkish tinge. The brew is very clear walnut brown... just spots of lacing.
Nose is distinctive "real raspberry".... also shows a nice clean brown malty character with deep toast and hints of lite cocoa.
Flavor mirrors the nose and is actually pretty dry... just clean malts and sorta jammy raspberry essence.... pretty refreshing actually. Body is a bit on the light side, but plenty of smooth small bubble carbonation makes it seem a little creamy. Homer321 (5006) - Melboring, Florida, USA - DEC 29, 2015
Bottle to snifter. An immediate gawd awful aroma of rotten fruit and mustiness that makes me feel sick. a dark red pour with a medium sized light brown head. Taste is all papery thin and sugary sweetness like a lollipop. This is horrible. bulldogops (2490) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 28, 2015
Rating #1392 - 15.12.2014 On tap @revolutionyeg. Pours a deep ruby Aroma is strong raspberry. Taste is more of the same, sweet berry juicyness, light tartness. Palate is heavy with sweetness, but it isn’t unwelcome in this instance. snoworsummer (5615) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - NOV 22, 2015
Draft at the brewery. Pours opaque bright red with a creamy, fizzy off white head. Tastes like cherry, dried fruit, earthy malt, and toffee. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like cherry, dried fruit, earthy malt, and some toffee.

Tap at New Belgium. Pours copper/ruby. Aroma is cherries, raspberries, toasted malts, and faint caramel. Flavor is dry with modest fruit flavor and a faint chocolate finish. Medium body. Beerdedone (3395) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 21, 2015
Bottle. Pours ruby red with a small off-white head. Aroma of toasted malts and raspberry fruitiness. Flavor of sweet raspberry, toasted malts, roasted grains and had a light tartness. AgentAle (1726) - Alberta, CANADA - MAY 17, 2015
Aroma is raspberry and sulphur. Taste is pale malts with faint caramel and mostly raspberry tones that are fairly well balanced and not consuming. Appearance is a clear amber with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well. rejtable (2622) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 5, 2015
