From 22oz bottle to tulip. Pour is a beautiful copper, thick off white head. Nose is heavy hop, pine, earthy. Taste is a light bitter, kind of suprising. Finishes very smooth. Good beer, thought it would be a bit heavier DrunkSanta410 (979) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - OCT 26, 2013
UPDATED: OCT 27, 2013 Draft to growler from Maltitude in Columbus, GA. Pours a light, clear amber color with a thick frothy head that settles to a thin layer of bubbles. Smells very citrusy and hoppy with a little bit of pine in there. Taste is hoppy, but the bitterness and the after taste leaves a little to be desired. Light carbonation and light mouthfeel. Overall just OK. haddon90 (1634) - Newport Beach, California, USA - OCT 26, 2013
Bottle at the hub in DEN. Pours a clear, light copper color with a frothy white head. Light hoppy aroma. Smooth taste with some tartness and hops. Light finish. Nothing really to this IPA. BadAprilia1000 (435) - Sevierville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 25, 2013
Pours a golden color with a nice foamy head. Smells of several different hops varieties. Lots of pine and citrus. Very, very good mouthfeel. Very refreshing. The hops profiles in this beer are super clean. I really don’t understand why this is rated so low...... raphael (1295) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 25, 2013
fresh but moderate aroma, a littlesting it he back, resin. strong clear yellow body with adequate white head. a little oily & flat on the pallet.. almost vinegary bitterness, high pitched, barely a toasted sweetness to balance it with, a clash of mint. balanced finish. I should know the only New Belgiums I’ve really liked have been in the hop trip series

Poured into a pint glass out of a 22oz bottle. 3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 22, 2013
Pours a crystal clear medium gold with a fizzy, soapy, one finger head. Just splotchy lacing and head retention.
Some earthy, piny aroma with a touch of light citrus. There is also a bit of garlin and onion in there which I like quite a bit.
More earth in the taste with the onion/garlic note becoming more prominent. Loads of pine with the citrus staying a little more supressed. A light caramel malt undertone with quite high bitterness that lingers long through the finish. Mouthfeel is a little watery I feel.
Overall, just an average beer from New Belgium. An ok IPA but nothing Earth shattering.
UPDATED: OCT 23, 2013 Bottle. Clear amber. Sweet onion and tropical fruit gum hop-forward nose with notes of sap / resin, orange oil, caramel. Cleanly fermented but the hops are crude and raw smelling. Cloyingly sweet, some bitterness, some acid. Medium body and chewy. Sugar and celery and onions. ben4321 (6773) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - OCT 22, 2013

Aroma: The nose is light, grassy hops, some spice, herbal notes, and a little fruit
Appearance: It pours a clear golden-orange color with a small head and some lightish lace
Flavor: The taste is lightly sweet, some medium hop bitterness, and a little spice
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a lively carbonation, and a clean, somewhat dry finish
I thought this was a decent, though slightly lacking example of the style. The nose is a little dull, but the hops come through nicely in the flavor, and the freshness comes out there as well. Not too bad at all.
Bomber poured a clear tarnished gold with a lasting white head. Aromas of bread, earthiness, pine and light citrus. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, earthiness and light pine with a smooth dry moderatly bitter lingering earthy finish. ozarkspops (368) - - OCT 18, 2013
Pretty clear golden copper with pretty thick white head and good lacing. Grapefruit, citrus, and pine aromas. Well balanced hop flavors similar to aroma. Mild malt bill. Decent ipa.
