On tap at Yard House Houston. A dense, finger thick off-white head sits on top of a clear golden body. There’s some peach in the aroma, but it’s the citrus peel, grapefruit and pine cones that dominates. The flavor has a fine bitterness, some sweetness in the back and a good dash of pine cones and grapefruit. Full body and a pleasant carbonation level. Long finish with a tad too much sweetness, but there’s enough bitterness to deal with it. Nice. 131114 brokensail (16670) - Dublin, California, USA - OCT 5, 2013
On tap @ New Belgium. Clear golden pour with a white head. Burnt popcorn nose, biscuit, and some grass. Light soap, egg noodles, and earth. Tastes like burnt noodles and popcorn. Soapy hops, earth, and a strong bitterness. Biscuit sweetness. bhensonb (15843) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 4, 2013
Bomber from the Arden BevMo. Pours rather orange with a foamy off-white or beige head. Aroma is sort of dank. Or nasty greenish veg. Whatever floats your boat. It’s hoppy. Med +body. Flavor is lots of greenish stuff over almost lost caramel, and it’s hoppy/bitter. This is earthy/herby/maybe ? It’s astringent, dry, veg, bitter, and .... It’s really very good ale. Gobsmacking! 2014 - a good fresh hop beer, though not really a standout for new Belgium. Balanced aroma and flavor with caramel mLts and nut, muted citrus and evergreen. phaleslu (10747) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 2, 2013
Draft at Heavy Riff, served in a pint glass. Pours a clear golden color with a finger of white head. The aroma and flavor are so, so clean- pine, herbs (mint, rosemary, fresh cut grass), lemon citrus, and pale and slightly sweet malts that take a backseat. Light-bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a bright, fresh, clean mouthfeel. Really nicely done. marcus (10740) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 20, 2013
Bottle from Capitol Beer, Sacramento. Pours clear golden with an attractive off-white head and a citrus aroma. There is a medium-bodied pale ale flavor with a pretty bitter hoppy finish. Yes, it is nice and fresh. cubs (10721) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - OCT 5, 2013
Tap @ New Belgium. Pours a dark golden appearance with a white head and good lacing. Soapy herbal, somewhat spicy, grassy hoppy, a bit green aroma. Mild ganja, chewy herbal, floral flavor. The beer has really green hops which I’m not sure I like very much. arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JAN 4, 2014
Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy golden yellow pour with white head, aroma brought notes of big grass, pine, hints of earth, slight orange peel, touch of grapefruit into biscuit, bread, slight spice. Taste is a mix of pine, grass, dank notes into orange, grapefruit, slight biscuit, bready notes into a mix of grain, finishing bitter.
