This excellent lager is cloudy and the color is light. The hops are distinct. The only complaint is that the malt flavor is a little understated. Thus, there is a slight imbalance between malt and hops. However, it is an excellent beer. gschrade (1092) - Collinsville, Illinois, USA - AUG 27, 2014
I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste biscuit, sweet, earthy. I thought this was good. I would drink this again.

Draft. Hazy deep golden color, fluffy white head with nice retention and lacing. Nice aroma of light spice, flowers. Taste is earthy, lightly spiced, subtle pine and citrus. Very tasty. nathan30533 (1020) - Clifton, Ohio, USA - DEC 31, 2014
This is a good german / Belgian style brew. I had it aged a year an a half. Not much hop taste. Good malt balance. Beerdrinker79 (2188) - Idaho, USA - MAR 8, 2013
22 oz. bottle- Pours clear golden with a nice fluffy white two finger head that looks to stick around for awhile, lacing is nice and sheets the glass. Aroma is nice and hoppy, citrusy and piney with spicy bitter hops. The taste is different than the aroma, which led you to believe a nice straight up PNW IPA. This is more unique, it has the hops, but is sweeter than expected, almost syrupy, but not really, the hops are much mellower than I was expecting in the taste, very floral too, which is not surprising considering it’s a heller bock. The alcohol is more in your face leaving a warming feeling after the swallow. Body and carbonation are medium. Overall I liked it, and I am very intrigued by this new Hop Kitchen series that New Belgium is offering, can’t wait to see what else they will release.

Had a small glass of this from a friend’s bottle and was impressed. Gold color, good head. Aroma was interesting bit of grassy hops. Flavor was this really good hoppiness taking over the lager, grassy, just great hop character. Might have to go buy another bottle while its still fresh, yum.

Bomber. Poured clear, bright golden with a nice cap of white head. The aroma picked up fresh grapefruit and juicy floral notes over sweet, toasted bread and a little vanilla supported.. clean and well-balanced. The flavor found chewy bready notes and a kiss of honey at the core, with fresh citrus and grassy bitterness around.. peppery warmth rolled in toward and through the finish.. very tasty stuff! Medium-bodied with low-moderate carbonation on the palate.. loved the balance.. I could drink a lot of this! brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - MAR 29, 2013
Clear golden pour with a white head. Floral hops, nice spice, and some sweet apple esters, and bread. Mile yeast, some citrus peel, and nice biscuit maltiness. The flavor is lightly sweet with some good bread and biscuit character. Really good floral and spicy hops with just a hint of citrus. Some mild lemon, apple esters, and just a touch of bitterness. I can smell the hops almost like if i was brewing them myself. The color is a nice pale golden color with a nice rich white head. It tastes very germanish light bogy and a nice hoppy flavor. Not so bitter but a good flavor. It has a creamy mouth feel and good carb. A decent sumertime brew. Good job on the germen theme. Worth a buy mmmbeer (1425) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAY 18, 2013
22 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured a transparent thin yellow with ever the slightest tint of orange. Solid and foamy two finger head formed and tried to lace upon the vessel, low carbonation. Aroma of earth, rye, apple, and grapefruit. Hits the mouth with a light body, malt is extremely light even considering the style, gentle hop wave in the middle, finish is has some resin and acidity. Welcome relief from the beta test beers that you have to pay to experience here in Austin.
