COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La Folie, French for "the folly," is a beer steeped in New Belgium brewing tradition. This wood-aged, sour brown spends one to three years in big, oak barrels, known as foeders. And when the beer finally hits the glass, La Folie is sharp and sour, full of green apple, cherry, and plum-skin notes. Pouring a deep mahogany, the mouthfeel will get you puckering while the smooth finish will get you smiling. Not a beer for the timid, La Folie is a sour delight that will turn your tongue on its head. Find out why it’s considered one of the best sour beers around.

2013 Bottle shared at epic Cantillon tasting. Aroma: brett, caramel, brown sugar, slightly oxidated. App: brown, reddish, minimal beige brown head, leaving great lacing especially for a 2013 bottle. Taste and palate: medium body, light sweetness, moderate high acidity and dry finish. Overall: good stuff. A bit too much acidity for me but it's well made. Good stuff.

,Pours a dark brown with some nice beige head. The nose is sour apple, oak, cherry, and a hint of vinegar. Taste is a nice sour apple and hint of cherry. The oak barely comes through. The finish is quite fruity. Light to medium bodied, with light carbonation. This is just a good solid sour.

From bottle in Belgian ale glass. Pours murky maroon/amber with frothy head that fades quickly. Tart cherry from beginning to end with nice woody undertones from the oak.

Bomber, 2017 vintage. Tart green apple aroma with notes of cherry, plum, oak and caramel. Pours reddish-brown with a thin tan head that has some retention and excellent lacing. Starts with cherry, plum and caramel flavors that has a lively mouthfeel. Finishes dry with tart green apple and some oak flavors. Complex and delicious, a very nice sour.

Magic sour cherry happy juice! 🍒 Has a fruity and almost syrupy aroma, with a dark red appearance and smooth palate. The taste is sharp and tangy in the cheeks, with a nice, fruity finish. One of the very best sours I’ve ever had- not too light on the sour, but doesn’t ignore the fruit either. Good for hoarding to yourself when you’re supposed to share it with your boo boo at the arcade that just got pinball machines, and/or reminiscing the day after while digesting spicy wings.

Dark brown, no head. Light sour nose. Big malty base hives way to a sharp sour. Bam. It lingers too.
