Pour on tap at the Denver Rare Beer Tasting 2012, dark reddish pour with off white head, aroma had notes of peach, pear, whiskey, some slight acetic notes, hints of vanilla, touch of green apple and lemon tart notes, hints of biscuit, caramel, and toffee as well. Taste is a mix of sweet peach, pear, grape, slight pineapple, nice sour vinegar, finishing fairly tart, bitter, slight oak, vanilla, and whiskey. Nicely done. Sample at Denver Rare Beer Tasting IV on 10/12/2012. Hazy amber pour with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing on the glass. Funky fruit and malt in the nose. Medium-bodied with flavors of sour fruit, yeast and malt. The finish is tart and vinous with an earthy malt and yeast aftertaste. Good beer overall. On Tap at Star Bar. Pour is hazy copper with a long-lasting white head and good lacing. Funk, wood, peach skin, earthy notes, dirty apricots, tannin and green apples in the aroma. Taste is peach, oak, sour whiskey, pear, nail polish, and light vinegar with a moderately sour finish. Medium mouthfeel with high carbonation and a long-lasting acidic aftertaste. Woody, fruity, and tannic with nicely balanced acidity. Interesting blend.
