COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Famous in Michigan for farmhouse ales, our friends at Brewery Viviant introduced us to their biere de garde ale yeast strain. From there, we imagined a slightly tart, intentionally dry beer with hints of bergamot citrus that pairs perfectly with French cheeses.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark straw with off-white head. Nose is floral spicy malt, peppery. Tastes is honey-pale malt, hopcitrus floral black peppery notes, and a complex finish. Well balanced and complex.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Foco. Pours a clear golden appearance with a fluffy, off-white head. Super floral, almost cleanser-like, light lemon, dry straw, a bit musty aroma. Tangy, lavender, quite floral/potpourri, tart lemon, dry, a touch cheese-like flavor. Kind of an interesting beer, but not my favorite.

BVery (10327) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - JAN 9, 2013
Tap. Clear deep yellow pour with a spotty white head. Fruity pear on the aroma and taste, a little citrus and dry tea, clean and lighter palate.

DuffMan (10278) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 16, 2013
Bottle, shared with my in-laws. Hazy orange-tinted gold. Very doughy yeasty aroma, some brothy character like cooked noodles, lightly cheesy. Doughy, yeasty body of flavours, brightened by some orange and spice. Intriguing to me, but not a favourite.

marcus (10149) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 2, 2012
Bottle from Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours clear blonde with a nice orange white head and a fruity aroma. There is a fruity light malt flavor that is a bit sour with a strange spiced finish.

phaleslu (10104) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 28, 2013
Pour from a bottle at the brewery. Pours a bright, semi-cloudy gold that is deeper orange at the wider part of the glass and has a small white head. Notes of sweet and bready malts, melon, dried papaya, dry dough, and some farmhouse funk. Medium-bodied, with a sweet, dry, bready mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nice BDG.

Tap at PPG. Pours clear golden with medium white foam. Good lacing. Sweeter pez candies, sweet orange flavoring, sugar, pound cake. Taste buttery, minerally, soapy, small booze and sugar. Palate papery with harsh acid and acidity.

22oz bottle, shared with DanielCoor. Got this from a trade with adnielsen, I’m pretty sure -- thanks Aaron! Sticker on the bottle reads 10/26/12. Very lemony, citrusy aroma in the nose. Light herbs. Clear yellow orange color. Few particles suspended in the body. Thin white head. Pretty nice spread of lace. Bigger body. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. Love the lemony, citrusy, orange peel flavors. Light spice. Very zesty flavor, moderate sweet. Good fruit beer (that’s how I see this). I liked it a lot. Definitely out there for a biere de grade, way stronger and fruitier than typical, but I enjoyed it

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, hazy golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of white fruit, hints of slight oak, grass, touch of earth in there as well, slight peach, hints of biscuit, bread. Taste is a mix of grass, biscuit, bread, hints of touch of oaky tones, slight white fruit, peach, slight white fruit, finishing slightly spicy, dry.

Clear golden with a small foamy white head. Funky earthy aroma of frosted corn flakes and fresh baked biscuits. The flavor was also pretty cereal oriented with that Kellogs Corn Flakes kinda tone with some powdered sugar and earthy pale blonde maltiness, and a dry yet fruity apricot subtlety. Drinkable, but weird.
