UPDATED: MAR 11, 2005 Hazy orange colour. Spicy, phenolic aroma of medecine, sweat, cologne...like a classic saison meeting Orval. The palate is crisp, slightly toasty but largey perfumey, piney and phenolic. Straightforward, but I like it this way. Refreshing. chrisv10 (18593) - DENMARK - JUL 1, 2011
Old Notes (2000): Orangey, lively aroma and palate. Soft, rounded malt notes, peppery hints, and a touch of acidity dancing on the tongue. Very stylish.
Bottle. Slightly hazy golden with medium off-white head. Flavour is malt, brett, bitter, oak, little citrus, little sour, little acid, dry and oranges. brokensail (16678) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 11, 2010
A: A sort of orange/copper color, about one finger of white foam that recedes fairily quickly. bhensonb (15856) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 3, 2006
S: Spice, yeast, not really any sort of funk that I was expecting from the Brett.
T: Rather bland, especially for what I was expecting. Mild spice and yeast flavors, otherwise bready.
M: Medium body, with mild carbonation.
D: Drinkable?: yes. Great (or even good)?: no.
A hint of sour. Also yeasty orange? Orange amber color. Not so cloudy, as the sediment settled. Orangy citrus, malt, hop flavors merge. Tiny bubbles foam to a chewy state. Mellow spicy hop finish. But there’s a faint hint of something tending towards creosote. Or some flavor I just can’t otherwise label. Not bad, just different. Bottle conditioned ale triumphs again. djd07 (15663) - Houston, Texas, USA - OCT 8, 2009
Bomber. Pours a clear orange copper with a small frothy white head that diminishes quickly leaving decent spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is a strong clove, citrus, and light floral. Medium mouthfeel with a spicy fruit with wheat and lemon. Easy to drink, very refreshing a very good Biere de Garde from New Belgium.

Bottle. Poured a cloudy deep orange with an average frothy off-white head that lasted and had good lacing. Good complex citrus and cereal aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Same good complex bitter sweet flavor with a moderate finish. Good brew. HenrikSoegaard (14648) - Randers, DENMARK - JUN 26, 2011
Bottle. Frothy white fair mostly deminishing head. Moderate bitter very sour flavor. not even close to a Bier de Garde. This is a sour and not a pleasent one. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.
