Tap @ Hamilton’s, "Lips of Faith." Pours murky brown with al lot of carbonation in the form of tan bubbles. Smallish off-white head, decent lacing. Lovely banana bread aroma. Not as much wheatiness as expected, more of a grain/cereal scent. Smooth, bubbly mouthfeel. The rich banana bread nose is mirrored in the flavor. Sweet and yeasty, with little stale hay bite of some dunkels. Easy to drink, sweet without being disgusting, all around a really good beer.

Draught at Sycamore just prior to barley wine night. The oddest of the Lips of Faith. Malty and sweet, but also chocked up with cloves and various X-Mas ale spices. Initial tastes are positive, but as beer warms up the spices come on strong like a fruitcake. Delirium (673) - Falmouth, Cornwall, ENGLAND - JAN 16, 2009
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2009 Draught, at the upstairs bar&grill of the Crow’s Nest in Santa Cruz. Pours dark brown/black with a moderate off-white head. Aroma is banana, clove, grain, spices, and bit of alcohol. Flavor is the same elements, somewhat sweet. This is quite good on the whole---I had no real idea what a strong dunkelweizen would come out as, but it’s got a nice strong, doppelbock-ish malt quality along with the usual dunkelweizen flavors, and blends it all nicely. carruthm (1400) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 11, 2009
german clovey and banana bread heavy yeasts. medium brown color and a balanced palate. Perhaps a touch too much banana spice. glkaiser (1214) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 7, 2009
Tap at Naked City. Listed as the new Lips of Faith brew. Lots of banana and moderate syrupy sweetness. Not too heavy on the spices; smooth and easy drinking...enjoyable.

choice city. Extrm dark brown. Huge wheat heavy clove smell and flavor - creamy toasted wheat and spiced banana. Reminded of Aventinus - rich, sweet, syrupy, malt heavy, zero to no hop bitterness. Rich and tangy finish. BillKismet (4165) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 14, 2008
Black body with a decent brown top. Nose full of cloves and some banana. Quite phenolic. Clove dominates, chocolate banana rounds it out. Some sour banana on finish. Intriguing for the style as you definitely feel the alcohol warmth on the finish. A high-octane, winter warmer-styled dunkelweiss. A nice, seasonal rendition of the style.
