Oh my God. It’s not only a reaction for drinking one of Dieu De Ciel’s beers, but a figurative translation of the Montreal brewery’s name. Just ask our brewmaster, he’s in heaven when drinking this collaborative tripel, inspired by Dieu De Ciel’s love of hibiscus and Belgians love of the obscure, hence our addition of tart feijoa fruit. Cheers!

Pours deep hazy gold into a tulip. White head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Sweet hibiscus and tropical fruit aromas. Medium bodied with sweet/sour pineapple and kiwi fruit and mild pith upfront turning quite tart in the lasting finish. The best/only use of feijoa I’ve ever tasted... but becomes a little cloying after a while bringing it down a notch.

Bottle. Poured a light amber color with a white head. Very bitter floral aroma. Sweet malt flavor with a bitter and floral flavor. The hibiscus is very prominent.

Bomber with Zach and Brandon, tasted blindly, but guessed a sour, obviously not, pouts a burnt orange color with a small head. Nose is tart and sour with subtle yeast. Taste is bitter with some sour and tart notes. Alcohol buried in the taste. Finish is sour and tart, could pass for a sour to me. Quaff Score 8 / 10

I commited before the bartender got to say sour. Doh! Tasted like a trippel at first but then sour face.

It poured a hazy amber/copper color with an off-white head. The aroma was of fruit from the feijoa, spices with pale and caramel malts and a hint of dough. The taste was similar with a nice blend of the fruit and a tripel. Very nice.

Hazy strawberry blond, the aroma carries the florals of NB. Tripel but also this crazy fruitiness that must be feijoa. Sour fruity character, but mixed with the malts, florals and hop of NB tripel.

Bottle... Clear amber pour with a tiny, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The nose is spicy, floral and fruity. Medium to full-bodied with tingly carbonation. The flavor is tart, fruity and floral accompanied by a hint of black pepper. Tangy finish.
