COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oh my God. It’s not only a reaction for drinking one of Dieu De Ciel’s beers, but a figurative translation of the Montreal brewery’s name. Just ask our brewmaster, he’s in heaven when drinking this collaborative tripel, inspired by Dieu De Ciel’s love of hibiscus and Belgians love of the obscure, hence our addition of tart feijoa fruit. Cheers!

Bottle shared up at Proof. Strange sparse note: cider juice then weird then belgian yeast. Tropical fruit. jammy, bandaid, salt. sweet tart. light funky. 7.4

Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - 22 oz bomber. Sparkling light copper pour, soft medium thick white head with a slight coat of lacing. Aroma has a spicy tinge it with some odd, but pleasant fruitiness (must be Feijoa) which I understand is similar to guava. Flavor has a unique sweet and sour thing going on, some tart syrupy notes, some unique fruitiness that must be feijoa. Thickish mouthfeel. Reminds me of something that Dogfish Head would brew.

JulienHuxley (5809) - Sherbrooke, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 15, 2013
On tap at DDC 15th anniversary. Hazy gold pour with white head. Tea, hibiscus and fruity aromas, sauvignon, winey scents as well. Light acidity on the palate, fresh, floral, peppery belgian yeast finish, bitter. Palate is a bit heavy, soft carbonation. Nice.

CapFlu (5127) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 9, 2013
(Pint) Sampled at the New Belgium post-GBCF2013 party at Irish Times. Pours a lasting white foamy head atop - what could be best described as a shandy of yellow and deep brown. Dry white wine flavour with sour apples. Not good.

WheatKing (1338) - Phnom Penh, CAMBODIA - SEP 8, 2013
Sampled at the GCBF 2013 industry afterparty. Cloudy light amber, nice head. Nose of sweat, banana, tangerine. Flavour is sweet, banana. Very smooth, low carbonation.

jkwood04 (5448) - Connecticut, USA - SEP 7, 2013
22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy amber/copper with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of fruit from the feijoa, some spices, some pale and caramel malts, and light dough. Flavor the same with a nice blend of the fruit and a tripel. Average texture. An interesting beer that’s probably more of a fruit beer than a tripel.

Ferris (15345) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 6, 2013
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2013 Draft - Hay and yeast. Hazy pale gold with a thin head. Honey lemon hay and sweet yeast. A normal trippel on the sweet side.

Bottle. Clear pinkish orange pour with a big white head. Aroma is tangy, cirusy, slightly tart. Flavor is similar. Sour notes, a bit of Belgian yeast. Kind of one note and a little funky in a bad way. Not great.

Pour from a bottle at New Belgium. Weird how all other Lips of Faith were on tap except the collaborations with DDC and Vivant. Anyway, this one pours a cloudy golden color with a small but lasting white head. Citrus and tropical fruits, caramel and pale malts, mild spice, sugar, and a good dose of herbs. Definitely a hoppy tripel. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation. I couldn’t bring myself to go 8 in the aroma or flavor, but there’s an x-factor to this one I couldn’t put my finger on and really liked.

Arayaga2 (2198) - portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 28, 2013
Mostly clear yellowish brown with a small, dense white head. Aroma is light apple ester, with a hint of banana. Taste is the same, with a slightly tart lychee aftertaste, and a light, tart acetic note throughout. $8/22oz
