Oh my God. Its not only a reaction for drinking one of Dieu De Ciels beers, but a figurative translation of the Montreal brewerys name. Just ask our brewmaster, hes in heaven when drinking this collaborative tripel, inspired by Dieu De Ciels love of hibiscus and Belgians love of the obscure, hence our addition of tart feijoa fruit. Cheers!

Pour from a bottle at New Belgium. Weird how all other Lips of Faith were on tap except the collaborations with DDC and Vivant. Anyway, this one pours a cloudy golden color with a small but lasting white head. Citrus and tropical fruits, caramel and pale malts, mild spice, sugar, and a good dose of herbs. Definitely a hoppy tripel. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation. I couldnt bring myself to go 8 in the aroma or flavor, but theres an x-factor to this one I couldnt put my finger on and really liked.

22oz bottle, thanks to tmoney99 for sharing. Clear yellow orange color. Thin white head. Dots of lace. Lightly citrusy, kind of limey aroma. Light banana. More acidic than Im used to from tripels. Medium to bigger body, but it doesnt feel very full. Lighter carbonation. More dry in the finish. Interesting, different tripel, but it seems a little flawed.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, clear red pour with fizzy but fluffy off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, tart tropical fruits with pineapple, lychee, star fruits, hints of mango in there, going right into floral hibiscus, slight hints of a metallic note in there but not bad, some biscuity bread notes with a touch of caramel. Taste is a mix of sweet biscuit bread up front going right into tart pineapple, lychee and star fruits, hints of mango, slight passionfruit notes, hints of slight spice, no metallic notes, finishing fairly sweet, slightly bitter, tart notes follow as well. Based on the earlier reviews, this must have needed a bit to sort itself out, tasting pretty solid at the moment, though the price tag was harsh for the quality.

Bomber to snifter (thanks Tmoney99). Looks solid; a completely transparent burnt-orange with off-white lacing. Smells of dough and Belgian yeast with notes of what I can only assume to be feijoa and a sweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with a subpar citrus zest mouthfeel. Not my thing.

22. Pours a cloudy dark amber with bright medium amber edges and a dense and creamy tan head. Lots of sheeting lace. Big tangy floral and fruity nose, a little funky too. Smells pretty overripe--the floral notes are dense and syrupy, and the fruit has that pulpy decadent smell to it like its so ripe its going soft. The funk, well, that could be any of several factors I suppose. Theres a bit of egg yolk there. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Tastes like a mix of pink peppercorns, caramel syrup that got superheated, and some carbonic bite. Everything is trying to be louder than everything else in this beer, and it gets out of balance because of it. Knocking out that egg yolk and giving things some room to breathe instead of stepping all over each other would help a lot.

Bottle with a best before of March 2014. Pours with a clear golden orange hue with a medium sized, fizzy offwhite head that fades. Aromas are tart and slightly tropical, melon and papaya, peppery alcohol and phenol, dry apple and leather. Smells a touch sweet. Flavors are quite tart, grainy, fruity, hibiscus, melon, Belgian yeast. Quite a bit of acidity. Earthy and slightly waxy fruit flavors with noticeable alcohol. Lively carbonation, medium bodied with a tart finish. Not bad, I think it might drink a bit better than the score I ended up with.
