Growler at the brewery. Really surprised to find this one, NB’s not known for their stouts. Jet black with a rocky head. Light aromas of coffee, cocoa and a little fruitiness. Smooth, not thick, roasted grains, espresso. Dry finish, a little short. Quite nice, middle-of-the-road dry/Irish style stout with a lot of really tasty flavor to it.
Pour is dark brownish black with creamy tan head, aroma had notes of some roast, coffee, hints of chocolate, some caramel and nutty notes in there as well. Taste was a nice mix of chocolate, coffee, some nuts, roasted malt comes through and finishes with a earthy dry finish. Not bad! cubs (10693) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 11, 2011
Tap @ The Mayor Foco. Brown appearance with a lasting tan head. Chocolate malty, light espresso, cocoa, light vanilla aroma with a toned down hop presence. Fairly thick mouth feel. Dark chocolate, roasty malty, light espresso flavor with a slightly dry finish.
