Black with a small tan head. Wonderful aroma of cold toddy, milk chocolate, and a very light tone of roasty licorice. The flavor is a little more roasty/burnt bitter than I like, akin to slightly stale coffee, but there’s a nice chocolaty sweetness with a cold black coffee essence that kinda brings it back. Dark roasty molasses and cold black coffee round out the finish. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - NOV 12, 2012
Bottle. Pours with a black hued body and a large foamy tan head that lasts. Good lace and retention. Aromas of brown sugar, coffee, highly toasted grain, raisins, burnt toast, plum and chocolate. Grainy. Flavors are lightly acrid, dry, roasty, acidic coffee. Too dry to notice much chocolate. Burnt toast. Coffee character is a touch crude. Clean. Bitter, leather.
Medium-lively carbonation, dry, medium to medium low body. bhensonb (15355) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 12, 2012
Bomber from the Whole Foods in Davis, CA. Pours very dark brown/black with a creamy tan head. Aromas of smooth chocolate and coffee. Full bodied. Very fresh dark chocolate flavor - almost enough to eclipse the coffee. Some fairly smooth burnt malt beneath those. Finishes dry and flavorful. Bottle at my 30th Birthday tasting. From a balloon snifter. Pours clear black, thin pale tan head, spotty lacing. Nose is COFFEE!!!! So much goddamned coffee. Plus biscuit, black tea, caramel, vanilla, and light chocolate. Flavours of COFFEE, some fading roastiness, lightly clinging finish. This is basically a glass of carbonated cold black coffee. Everything else is secondary. BeerZack (288) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - NOV 11, 2012
Huge fluffy tan head that laces well. Smells mostly of cocoa powder, almost like chocolate milk and coffee mix. The coffee comes out more in the flavor than on the nose. There is a peppery or green-like harshness that is pretty strong when the beer is cold, but it greatly diminishes as the beer warms.

Tap @ The BeerMongers... Poured near jet black with a moderate, light brown head. You got what you asked for here -- a roasty, chocolatey, mocha/coffee bomb of a stout. A little thin on the mouthfeel which made the 10% abc seem smoother. Nice drinking beer on a cold, damp, PacNW day. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - NOV 10, 2012
22. Pours black with a pillowy tan head. Decent bubbly lace. Big sharp forward coffee nose, roasty and oily. Smells like an overroasted bean, not the best cup of coffee ever, but pleasant and dimensional in the context of a beer. The malty notes and chocolate accents around that are pleasant. Creamy medium body with very low carb. Big roasty coffee notes on the mid palate, followed by a pleasant dark roastiness. Long coffee finish. Thanks for sharing, bro! Pours a dark brown color with a thin mocha head which leaves several streaks of lacing. Aroma is vanilla bean, coffee, and chocolate. Taste is much the same - very smooth. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - NOV 10, 2012
On tap at Tap 25. It pours dark brown with a nice tan head. The aroma is super potent with fresh ground coffee and big chocolate. The flavor is more of the same with lots of coffee and cocoa. Medium bodied and a very pleasant drinker. Great new coffee beer. I want more! nearbeer (5462) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - NOV 10, 2012
