Cola pour with a thin tan head. Aromas of smoked malt, dark chocolate, some coffee but it seems to have faded. Lots of smoky earthy malt, some coffee and very little chocolate flavours. Nice beer that I should have drank a while ago. Imperial_Scout (363) - Illinois, USA - AUG 18, 2013

22 ounce bottle into signature globe glass, bottled on 10/5/2012. Pours pitch black color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy tan head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, light char, toast, and roasted earthiness. Awesome aromas with big presence of coffee, dark chocolate, and roasted notes; with great strength. Taste of big dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, light char, toast, and roasted earthiness. Good amount of roasted coffee bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, light char, toast, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt flavors; with a nice sweetness/bitter coffee balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a creamy, silky, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent imperial coffee stout! All around great balance and complexity of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering. ROGUE (2216) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - AUG 7, 2013
22oz bottle. Pours an pitch black color with a tight, tan head that leaves a bit of lacing. Smells of coffee mostly with some slight sweetness.Tastes of roasted notes mostly, with a bit of sweetness. Coffee and cocoa come through first with a bit of toasted marshmallow. Slight bit of brown sugar ends it with a touch of sweetness. Medium bodied with a smooth amount of carbonation.

Tap at Closed for Business, Charleston. It pours near black with a medium light tan head. The nose is roasty, freshly ground coffee, caramel, toast, vanilla, fudge, ash and light tobacco. The taste is fresh coffee, roasted malt, toast, bitter cocoa, caramel and earth with a dry, roasty finish. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Tasty, well-balanced and damn drinkable. Yum.

Amazing dark Brew. Starts strong, ends a bit fun of mill for the style. Tasty as can be.
