Cross pollinate your tastebuds with Belgian imagination and you’ll be sipping this ale while visions of pluots dance in your head. Pluots? A hybrid of apricots and plums that impart a subtle sweetness. Ferment that with a wild Belgian yeast strain and you have a fruity yet spicy nature with a body reminiscent of red wine. Delicious.

Bottle. Golden with minimal head. Lightly boozy with fruity tartness and quite a bit of sweetness. Very eh.

Hazy gold beer, small white head.Palate is smooth and semi dry and very slightly viscous. Mild carbonation. Mild creamy malt. Little spice. Syrupy fruits. Very subtle sherbet. Light semi dry finish. Quite Belgian Golden like, shame the fruits were not better showcased.

Golden pour with minimal head. Sweet fruit aromas that remind me more of apples than a plum/apricot hybrid. Flavor is sweet and reminiscent of apple juice. Not much else going on here. Another bland uninteresting Lips of Faith beer.

I’m so out of touch some times, I hear about the Lips of Faith series and never really pay much attention since I haven’t had regular access to New Belgium beers in about 7 years, but this past few months they’ve made it to Florida. A little extra money in my pocket finds me grabbing a couple of these. It is a mixed bag. I enjoy the nose, somewhat funky and fruity and almost reminiscent of lambic. Fruitiness tends to gooseberries. What is a pluot? Oh, a plum apricot hybrid - I get neither here. Well I dunno, maybe that strong acerbic note in the flavor is pluoty. Seems like a fruit you might want in a slightly maltier beer, but this dry backbone on this features this fruit too much, as I said, acerbic. Nice look, golden, hazy, moderate lacing. Looks and smells like a nice golden sour but the flavor is biting, somewhat bitter, though dry and tending to tart. Like I said, a mixed bag.

Kind of gross. Pours an ugly pee yellow with no head at all. Smells a bit like plums and wine. Taste is like old wine cooler, very sweet with very little beer taste. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Lips of Faith series are hit or miss, and this one is definitely a miss. Had in the bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a thin, one centimetre tall just off-white head with thousands of small bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of alcohol, tons of malt, plums, apricots, cherries, pears and bunches of apples - nice and fruity throughout. Full-bodied; Dense mouthful with a big malty flavour and then tons of fruits with the apricots the strongest, then some plums and pit fruits and a hint of pears at the end. Aftertaste shows a nice malt and alcohol note at first then fading to a subdued fruity and pungent spice kick - nice and strong, but sweet as well. Overall, a nicely balanced beer with malt strong but the fruit even stronger - ending with a good amount of alcohol, but mellowed by the sugars as well. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Arrowine in Arlington, Virginia on 19-July-2013 for US$6.99 sampled at home in Washington on 19-January-2014.

Pours hazy golden color out of bottle. No real head. Aroma of wine, sweet wine. Taste is sweet malt with a sort of bitter fruit. Creamy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Not bad not sure if I would drink it again.

Served in a chalice at the Hay Merchant, Houston. My wife ordered it. It had zero head, a golden yellow color. Aroma is sweet fruit, yeast. Sweet taste, reminds me of wine, although I’m not sure what kind, as I don’t really drink wine much. Would not order on my own.

Tap at Clips of Faith 2013. Foamy white head on top of a golden-orange body. Interesting deep pungent fruit tones, not tart. Some canned fruit cocktail notes. Surprised me that it was 10%. The fruit tones really balance out the big malt backdrop. Mild earthy undertones. A little too big and meady at times, but still a unique, enjoyable beverage. The pluot never strikes you as fresh or natural..more of an extract fake feel. Still rather delicate for the ABV. Enjoyable in some respects, I’m curious to try the bottle.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, hazy yellow pour with white head, aroma brought notes of white fruit, hints of tart lemon into some trashy notes, slight earthy, yeasty notes with a hint of herbal, floral notes. Taste is a mix of herbal, trashy notes, hints of yeast, slight lemon, white fruit, finishing sweet, dry.
