Good beer is good by every measure, but greatness can be subjective. For me, this is one of the most enjoyable beers I’ve ever tasted. I’ve heard good things from people I trust when it comes to palate and once I tasted this amazing double/super IPA and instantly loved it. Aroma is fresh hops and lots of citrus and floral notes. Also some candy and spice present. Not quite grapefruit, but some other citrus is present. Maybe Cara Cara orange. It pours a slightly cloudy and beautiful orange color with a this white head that gives way to moderate lacing. It’s medium bodied and there is some hot alcohol in the back of each sip, but not overwhelming for a 9% abv beer. Some resin and oil, but very smooth. It tastes amazing. I love the pine and citrus hops that give way to a unique citrus flavor like a cara cara orange or maybe a mandarin and some definite pineapple comes through as does some cotton candy and perhaps dreamsicle or push-ups. A little malt to balance the hops and some delicate spicing. It’s very balanced and not bitter at all. No astringent aftertaste. Actually, the lingering taste is of the citrus and pineapple. Again. All reviews and palates are subjective. For me, a must drink and a huge winner.

22 oz bottle shared with Tmoney99 from backlog. Pours a clear dark golden/amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, juicy citrus, herbal and light resiny hops, sticky, flavor is nice, moderate bitterness, solid DIPA.

Clear golden colored with a small white head. Sweet and floral. Liked it better as time went by. 5/12

Tap at Sidedoor. Filtered orange-tan body. Nice broad hop depth. Cleanish hop depth. Foamy, glass-lacing white head. I get a lot of dry straw tones that make me think Amarillo, with a hintof new school citrus, the Simcoe, amont the classic NW piny grapefruit tones. Comes across quite strong, I don’t think I’d want anymore than the 10oz pour I had. A respectable enough IIPA, but a touch antiquated and not so exciting. Resinous hops. Alcohol notes. Clean, well made.

I really liked it when it was cold but as it set it became less and less appealing to me.

Rated based on notes taken 2 Sep 2012 -- Didn’t have many notes other than I drank this at Flying Saucer and I really liked it.

Draught at Apex, Portland, as Alpine Super IPA
Hazy golden color. Some manure aroma. Good pale malt backbone, lean, only lightly sweet, with strong resiny hopping and some citrus fruit.
Excellent, easy to drink in the category, yet bold and hop-forward.

On draft. Orange golden color with one finger head. Tropical fruit and slight pine aroma. Flavor is similar. Can get a taste of the alcohol. Pretty good.

Growler... Pours clear and amber with golden highlights and a small, creamy, white head. The aroma features a medley of tropical fruits and a note of orange blossom honey. Medium-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and jazzy carbonation. The flavor is juicy, fruity and bright, with a moderate measure of hoppy bitterness and a lesser ration of honey and biscuit sweetness. The mouth-watering finish is fruity and a touch sweet. Bottle courtesy of ctipping and/or landhoney!

Revo. Spicy, peach, pungent, sweet grapefruit, pine, chewy, tropics, just a massive avalanche of potent everything. Awesome. Just let it warm up!

12oz tulip glass on tap at Beer Revolution’s Edmonton location pours a golden color with a finger of white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is tropical fruits with some grapefruit and light grains. Taste is a grapefruit hop bitterness with a tropical fruit and caramel malty sweetness. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, a high quality DIPA that is well balanced and tasty and definitely worth tasting.
