3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from the bottle. A slightly sour brew that was well balanced and hid it’s 8.5% ABV very well. I found it a surprising beer. Smooth but citrusy with a clean taste and finish. I’m not sure I would get it again but worth a try...
Allagash certainly helped this one out, easily one of the best Lips of Faith I’ve tried. The hibiscus is palpable, but not overwhelming. Not overly dry. Tried for the first time back in 2011. ttutony (952) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 3, 2016
Purchased in 2011 and kept in the back of the fridge for the past five years. Fruity (apple?) and floral aromas. Fairly light/delicate profile overall. Sourness is mild and not at all overwhelming. Nice for the afternoon. andrewje41 (4540) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - NOV 27, 2015
Draft 12 Oz pour at Brouwers Cafe. Pours a reddish orange color with a swirling head. Malt heavy aroma that implies a boozy beer. Flavor is slightly sour, very floral, and a bit of spice finish. A bit of apple. Pretty good, but not mind blowing like most beers labeled Allagash are for me. tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - MAR 13, 2015
Bottle: Gusher! Super cloudy, vibrant orange & amber color, small bits of dark sediment with a creamy beige head that lasts for a while before settling down. Aroma loaded with horsey Bretty, grungy old pineapple, green apple, tart lemon, a big twinge of sour lacto, mild woody-cotton funk. Smells nice. Flavor is very dry, even more Brett-heavy. Quite woody, cottony, peppery, herbal, & super dry. A bit spicy, too. Light undertone of pineapple rind, green apple, & some damp hay towards the finish, just a touch of horsey funk. Effervescent, light body. Almost a bit too overloaded with brettanomyces on the palate, lacto definitely takes a backseat. If it tasted like it smelled, it would be awesome. Instead it settles for just being pretty solid. slowrunner77 (13223) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 30, 2014
"surprisingly low funk level given that it has both brett and lacto, and has been sitting letting those bad boys do their thing for quite some. but, it wasn;t too funky, and not sour at all. medium bodied amber in color. smells floral and sweet pear. similar flavor with a touch of dry funk in the finish. refreshing, but not quite ehat i’m looking for in a wild ale."

Hazy golden colored pour. Big white head, closer to off white. Plenty of lacing. Funky aroma with some citrusy notes. Taste is a tart funky mix of Brett and fruity flowery-ness. hotstuff (5281) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - APR 12, 2014
Rated on 5-11-2011. This bottled beer pours a medium sized fizzy off-white head that mostly diminishes, mostly transparent/slightly hazy orange body, fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is brett, floral, sweet, and hints of fruit. The taste is sweet, sour, fruity, and floral. It has a semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel is lively and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this beer is not overly sour tasting and worth trying. harrymel (1551) - Spokane, Washington, USA - DEC 4, 2013
Alright, let’s see what two years did here...
Pours a bubbly clear copper with a vigorous initial tow fingers of thick, meringue style foam that falls to a solid quilt of the same. Smells pretty simple: some peppercorn, light malts, some hints of brett (sweet, milky and funky) with just a slight floral note. Nice fruity flavor up front lends some lemon and pineapple juice with woody malt and a hint of tartness in the finish. Medium on light syrup with liberal, but quick dissipating carb and an off dry finish. Tasty beer, but nothing special.

Bottle. Clear yellow/orange pour with white head. Floral and vinegar aromas. Sweet with big malt, lactose, and mild floral notes. Tangy and somewhat effervescent. I’m just not a big fan of hibiscus. Decent body and mouthfeel.. alexsdad06 (11242) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - OCT 27, 2013
22 oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99 (Sept. 2011). Pours a murky reddish amber color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor had a big herbal/floral character, the hibiscus is noticeable, tart citrus, dry Brett notes, some malt character with a moderate acidic lacto quality. I would drink it again.
