Mix your own adventure this summer with PEAR GINGER BEER . Our latest Lips of Faith release updates the Victorian-era ginger beer with whimsical additions of pear and lemon peel, creating a zesty, invigorating summer sipper crafted for beer glasses and mixologists’ cocktail shakers alike. Warming, spicy ginger punctuates a lively wash of sunny lemon, pear and bready white wheat for a sip that starts sweet, but finishes with just the right amount of heat. Drink it straight, no chaser, or put a new spin on a classic gimlet—either way, shake it up this season with Pear Ginger Beer.

Poured into a snifter. 2.75 A: Well hazed medium orange color. Short lived off-white head that leaves no lacing. 3.5 S: Huge pear in this. Lemon and ginger secondary and complementary to the pear. Mildly tart with red apple notes. Light graininess, and subtly sweet. 3.5 T: The ginger comes through much stronger in the taste adding a pleasant spiciness. Pear, lemon, and apple follow. Less tart than it smells but still a hint - same with the sweetness. It’s hard to comment on the base malts as the ginger and fruits dominate the taste. 3.5 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Bubbly on the tongue with a spicy finish. 3.75 D: Interesting beer with a flavor profile that isn’t very common. ★ 717 characters DavoleBomb, Feb 10, 2016

On tap at The Block. Decent, didn’t quite live up to expectations. Cloudy yellow pour, not much head. Pear is fairly prominent and nice heat from ginger on the finish.Citrus/lemon notes and fairly bready. Overall fairly sweet and a somewhat off putting slick mouthfeel. Fairly spicy throughout. Somewhat bitter/tart at the end. Average, but unique.

Bottle at trailer. Hazy golden color with ivory head. Nice ginger, light pit fruit, sweet malt, spicy aromas. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Ginger, caramel, pear meat, sweet malt flavors---very cool ginger burn to finish____tasty.

Pours a clear golden yellow on tap with bubbly white head that leaves light lace. Aroma of pear fruity sweetness up front, just a mild hint of spice. Taste follows, big on the malt and pear, mild on the ginger. Light and refreshing for the abv, but not really sure this is what I’d go for.

Slightly hazy golden and orange coloured body with a very fast-dying tan head, about a centimetre tall near the end of the fade. Aroma of light malt, cardboard, fruits, spices, caster sugar and the undeniable pear scent that comes when you cook down the fruit. Light-bodied; Strong ginger flavour at first with some light nutmeg and coriander seed, but pure ginger root is noticeable, along with a subdued yet noticeable pear flavour and some very light crystal malt and a touch of bitterness at the end. Aftertaste is mellow and fruity with a light kick of spices and a good amount of sugars throughout. Overall, a surprisingly nice beer that is very easy to drink, fruity and sweet all at once and not bad in any of those dimensions. Not a complex beer per se, but not one to laugh over - done right for the style and for the perceived attempt. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Clarendon), Virginia on 31-May-2015 for US$8,99 sampled at home in Washington on 29-November-2015.
