COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Felix is New Belgium’s blonde sour ale aged in oak foeders at the brewery. It is blended in various proportions in many of New Belgium’s sour wood-aged beers, such as Le Terroir and Tart Lychee.

How to tell you’re drinking the Felix version of Love: should be straw to orange / amber in color, not dark caramel or brown. If it’s called "Love" on a pub or festival menu, it’s most likely Felix and not Oscar.

Tap at New Belgium. Pours clear bright orange. Aroma is citrus, lactic acid, wheat, and faint toast. Flavor is clean and tasty with great light fruit and acidity. Light body.

Sampled at Great American Beer Festival 9/24/15. A nice, light and refreshing sour with hints of oak and tropical fruits. Very good.

On Tap hazy deep orange with a brief off white head. Some confusion in the name as teh commercial description suggests but this is neither Cherries or Peaches. Very tart. Nearly authentic Lambic level of tartnes/acidity. Nice rounded fruity flavors also though and squeaky finish. A bit lighter and a bit more sour than La Folie, even the original caged corked 750s of yore. Very tasty.

Tap at Toronado-Seattle. Big snifter pour (~12oz). A glowing gold-amber color, too thick for clarity but not cloudy. A little musky acetic aroma. More berries than bad acetic. Flavor has a very doable acetic finish. I just want more malt and other characteristics to play with the sour character.

unclemike (3121) - Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA - FEB 9, 2015
Hazy copper/orange color with a white head. Nice tart cherry lemon, vanilla wood cinnamon aromas; lots to take in here. Medium tart throughout with sour cherry and lemon, with some vanilla and wood to temper some of the tartness

Slightly hazy golden yellow pour with white head. Aroma of oranges, lemon, funk, oak and faint vinegar. Taste of lemon zest, tart peach, funk, oak and an apple cider vinegar kick that sweetens out on the finish. Light bodied, nice carbonation, interesting beer.
