COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Every once in a while, a special barrel-aged beer goes on tap in the Liquid Center from the series NBB Love. If you’re lucky, you’ve seen it out in the wild, if only for a brief moment. This much-whispered-about beer series is the culmination of aging our two base sour beers—Oscar (the base for La Folie) and Felix (the base for Le Terroir)—in a variety of Leopold Bros. fruit whiskey barrels. The result is NBB Love Cherry Felix, NBB Love Cherry Oscar, and a variety of other barrel-aged sours named after the base beer and fruit whiskey variety. They’re pretty darn tasty.

Sampled from the tap at ABR 2015. Pours a clear deep amber with a yellowish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a real nice apple whiskey note with some light tart fruit with a slight acid and a bit of grain. Flavor has nice sour fruits, apple whiskey with a grain backing as well as a touch of funk.

Brown mahogany pour with a thin corona of khaki head. Aroma is milky, carmel, cherry, funk, unfortunately light. Carbonation soft, mouthfeel potently tart, dry finish. Pert sour fruit sour and chardonnay taste, green apples, salt/vinegar, bit of cherry and wood. Bitter finish flavor somewhat reminiscent of whiskey.

Draft to taster. Looks good; a fairly transparent amberish brown with thin very light beige head. Smells semi-tart and sour with notes of apple, oak, and whiskey alongside a nice balance of the base beers. Tastes like it smells with some balanced notes of vinegar. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied. Enjoyable.

Tap. Pitch ruby black. No head. Thinnish. Sweet, almost raisin nose. Tart -- pucker level. Not too much apple or whiskey character.
