Pour on tap at Avery Sourfest, dark brownish black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of earth, sweet berry, red fruits into some oak, slight whiskey in there with a hint of vanilla, some lactic and acetic notes. Stone Sour Fest 2013. Very dark brown pour with an off-white head. Nose is not terribly pleasant. Smoke, vinegar, whiskey, and dark fruit. Lots of oak, some molasses, and herbs. The flavor is a little bit better, but not great. Sweet dark fruit, molasses, and raspberry. At Avery Sour Ale Fest 2013. Clear black with a bit of ruby, no head. Aroma is incredible with sweet earthiness and perfumey whiskey barrels and complex fruity sourness. Tap at 4th Annual Boulder SourFest (2013). Murky brown pour, almost black, with a medium brown-colored head and good lacing. Roasty, herbal, dark fruity, band-aid, grapey, whisky, lightly spicy aroma. Taste is lightly roasty, bretty, herbal, blueberries, a hint of whisky heat, slightly tart, and dark fruits. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. A bit hot, but pretty tasty.

On tap at Avery Sour Fest poured a clear dark brown with a small lingering brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, barnyard, tobacco, raspberry and cocoa. Tap @ Mayor Foco. Pours a clear, deep maroon appearance with little to no head. Tangy, dark berry, mild caramel/chocolate, whiskey, somewhat boozy, tart aroma. Fairly smooth flavor with notes of blackberries, tart raspberries, oak, whiskey, and leather. An interesting experiment but nothing special.
