On tap at FWIBF. Pours with a hazy golden hued body with a large white head. Aromas are big time funk, pedio, lactic sourness, peachy oak, tannin. Smells like Felix with some stone fruit and extra alcohol. Flavors are grassy and tannic, medium acidity, good funk, tart, grape and underripe peach. My favorite at the Firestone Walker fest. Bright and different from the pack. I didn’t think the saison and peach whiskey barrels would work but from the first aroma to last sip, it was awesome. Sampled at Raleigh Rare and Vintage Festival 2013. Clear golden pour with decent offwhite head. Slightly tart peachy nose. Flavor is semi-oaky on the tail. Brewvival Trip Beer 95. Draft at Brewvival. Pours a hazy copper color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of stone fruits, bubblegum, earth and the faintest bit of funk. The taste is stone fruits, caramel, bread, tart finish. Medium bodied.

Lightly cloudy blonde pour. Nose is kind of odd, weird middle ground here. Didn’t seem like it was sure which direction it was headed in. I didn’t get too much wild/sour/funky/tart notes here. Tap at rrbf. Second beer I tried at the Fest. A little bit of a letdown but that’s the trend for me with new NB brews these days. Orange golden pour with thin white lace. Nose shows some tart and sweet peach, light oak/bourbon. Flavor is similar, but not nearly as sour/tart as expected. Pour on tap at the CO rare beer tasting 2012, hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of white fruits, peach, hints of whiskey, slight passionfruit and other tropical fruit, hints of funk, slight tart fruit notes in there with a touch of vanilla. Taste is nice tart fruits, with passionfruit, peach, hints of pineapple, slight vanilla, oak, whiskey come in, touch of spice, finishing slightly tart, oaky, dry. On tap at Brouwer’s Café for Big Wood ’12, pours a fairly cloudy orangey amber with no head – looks more like a cider. Aroma is sweet and complex, with passionfruit, peaches, cider and some liqueur-like notes. Flavour is complex and boozy, with passionfruit and peaches providing the fruitiness, with whiskey notes and light tartness. The whiskey notes are too prominent for me. Good stuff, nevertheless. On Tap at Star Bar. Pour is hazy peach with a huge white head and great lacing. Peach juice, apricot, wood, light tannin, caramel, spice, a touch of banana, and funk in the aroma. Taste is big peach juice, oak, passion fruit, whiskey, cherry pit, pepper, and herbs. Medium mouthfeel with almost no carbonation. Different beer, and kind-of interesting, but a little weird too. I don’t know what to think about this one.
