COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampants finish is bone-dry.

From a 650ml bottle on 10/10/2014. Pours a slightly cloudy medium golden with a small head. The nose is features some light fruit and resiny hops. Take a sip and you find a decent caramel malt background, lots of sweet fruit (orange, peach, apricot), and marmalade, which is set off against a nice resiny hop bitterness. Its nicely balanced with the sweetness just prevailing. The palate is a touch creamy and the carbonation moderate. I cant really separate this from the Black Market Liberation imperial I downed last night - its very enjoyable and well made, but lacks something to make it a really memorable DIPA.

Citrus and tropical fruits in the aroma. Flavor is a little sweeter than ideal, but not heavy. Just a little candied.

Rampant pours a golden yellow with a decently thick off-white head that lasts a while. The aroma is citrus, floral and peach. The flavor favors the peach more, but the citrus and floral is still present. Overall this is a decent beer.

Tap @ sbwf14. Sample. Amber color, thick white head. Piney, grapefruity aroma. Caramel malty with a decent fruitiness. Medium to full bodied. Slightly too sweet perhaps. Decent.

[email protected] Golden. Grapefruit green berries. Caramels. Real good rate here. Pretty nice, not too cloying or thick. Fruity hoppy. Drinkable.

Clear light golden amber with a large frothy white head. Aroma muted, like its too balanced, hops dont shine through. Similar with flavor, hops dont really shine through, too sweet. Low bitterness. Not too big or heavy. Decent beer but does not stand out in a crowded style.

BeerdedDave (1449) - Beckley, USA - SEP 22, 2014
light amber color; wonderful citrusy hop aroma; great, bitter, piney, citrusy hop flavor on a medium bodied bready malt base and a dry, bitter aftertaste; pretty easy drinking for such a high gravity beer
