A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampants finish is bone-dry.

Poured from a growler. Pours a Light yellow straw color, very clear, with a finger pure white head. Smell is earthy, grassy and a little like vodka. Smells more of fruit, mainly watermelon as it oxidates. Taste is mild fruity, earthy and grassy. Bitter after taste that lingers on the tounge. A little bit of a watermelon and grapefruit flavor. Malt flavor seems a bit covered by the hop flavors (not necessarily a bad thing). A bit of an astringent palate. Over all not my favorite ipa i have ever had, but pretty good, and very good for New Belgium.

Bottle from Kroger, you know the mix pack dealio. Gold, clear, small white head. Heavy grapefruit, pine, mango aroma. Flavor is peach, grapefruit pulp, pine, and bready malt. Smoothy and not syrupy.

Smooth for its strength. A solid IPA that doesnt blow you down with hoppiness.

Not over the top hoppy in aroma or flavor. Very floral-fruity. Juicy fruit gum on the nose and taste. Beautiful clear pale gold. Nice malty base light grass/hay, more sweetness than usually associated with most good iipas. Good fairly viscous mouthfeel with firm bitterness and little gearing finish. Overall well made, enjoyable, fruity, very clean, balanced drinkable brew.

Impy IPA... You focking cretins. Yeah, its kinda robust. Its kinda lacey and a nice gold in the Daffy Duck glass. but it seems to go about 84.6 % of the way and then go......Meh... it reminds me of those co workers which I despise. Again I state the logisticians and bean counters got a hold of the brewers nut sack, squeezed and then said... "we are growing exponentially Focktard!, Damn the craft! full speed ahead! Make sure we have every style represented somehow within this ridiculous budget! Sub standard beer? thats OK! Its brand recognition that counts! The public is confused and will like what we tell them to like....!" That is the state of this underwhelming IIPA..... Window licking Fock-tards

[Bottle (355ml)] Pours a deep amber-gold with an average size lasting frothy white head. Good amount of lacing. Aroma is lightly sweet and fruity along with bready malt and a good amount of hops. Nice fruity, hoppy flavour (7+) with a moderately bitter finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium bodied. Easy to drink for an Imperial and quite enjoyable.

Pours golden with a massive frothy white head. Subdued aromas of floral hops. Flavors are stone fruit, herbal tones, mango, fresh bread, and a bit of fresh cut grass. Nicely balanced. Clean mouthfeel. Drinks easily for an imperial IPA, but the alcohol presence is noticeable. Overall, very nice.

12 ounce bottle from Badger Spirits in Beloit, WI, served a few minutes out of the fridge in a pint glass. Slightly hazy amber-gold, moderate white stable head lasts and lasts and leaves touches of crystalline lacing when it finally subsides...nose is primarily citric and sweet - honey-dripping-orange - but theres some woody and earthy notes there too...quite sweet upfront, moderately bitter all the way through, drying out somewhat towards the end; fairly acidic, somewhat tart, but primarily juicy; theres also something of an overripe or spoiled fruit tone that doesnt really help matters...thick and fairly syrupy body, moderate tingly carbonation. I think this is the first NB beer Ive rated since Ive been back on this site and its certainly one of only a few that Ive had over the last several years, though its become a ubiquitous brand in the Midwest. Something about them just doesnt appeal anymore; while this was not a terrible experience or anything, its not about to make me care about this brewery either.

On tap: Golden color. A ripe pear and apricot hop fruitiness. Noticeably sweet honey malt, pleasant alcohol note and a relatively mild bitterness. Delicious.

Bottled. A golden beer with a huge white head. The aroma has notes of hops, spices, citrus fruits, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, carmel, hops, flowers, alcohol, citrus fruits, and spices, leading to a bitter finish.
