Pours a dark amber color with a finger of khaki head. The nose is rather earthy and piney with a strong hope note. A moderate floral aroma and lots of toasted bread. Just a hint of toffee sweetness. The flavor is very heavy on the toast. Lots of bread, some light toffee sweetness, and a strong pine bitterness. A bit of earthy and floral hops give a bit of complexity to the otherwise very straightforward beer. djd07 (16452) - Houston, Texas, USA - DEC 26, 2012

"Nice interplay between some citrus and spicy hops and a pretty hearty malt backbone (that was not really expected but enjoyed). Not really sure what I was expecting, but the nutty Irish red qualities was definitely not it, yet I enjoyed this brew thoroughly. "
