COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
New Belgium’s seasonal release, Saison, pays tribute to Belgian farmhouse ales brewed to celebrate the fall harvest. Pale bronze in color, our Saison is slightly spicy and delicately hopped. A sweet malty note glides along with herbal tones produced by an authentic Belgian yeast strain. The finish is surprisingly dry.
Originally, local brewers crafted Saison beers for seasonal workers in the farming community to enjoy at the end of their day. With typical hoppy character and an intriguing Belgian twist, Saison will appeal to hop lovers and wheat beer drinkers alike. Whether you’re pushing a plow or a pile of paper work, Saison will help you bask in the afterglow of a job well done.
Saison - Enjoy the season.
Pale bronze in color, this delicately hopped ale has a bright, yeasty, artisanal quality worthy of toasting those long autumn sunsets.

oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - DEC 30, 2006
Bottled (thanks kenb!). Honeyish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is honey, hops and earth. Flavour is fruit, earth, slight hops and nectar. Not too exciting saison. Might be some American hops that make it quite sweet.

Golden coloured. Big cardamom flavour. Too big for my liking. Not my favourite of the new Belgiums.

Draught at Cricket’s Grill, Waco
Golden color. An ok beer, with some caramel taste, some sweetness, and a quite evident spicy character.

harrisoni (19159) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 23, 2006
On tap at Hop Vine Pub, Seattle. Copper colour with thin beige head. Belgian yeast aroma. Nutty. In fact it’s really nutty. Peanut. I mean it’s peanut. Not unpleasant but doesn’t go anywhere, bit over carbonated.

Oakes (18472) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 18, 2000
UPDATED: JUN 23, 2005 A wonderfully acidic, spicy, flavourful rendition of the style. Astonishingly refreshing with a huge blast of ginger and depth of pepper, earthy hoppiness, and a dry finish. Re-Rate is hopefully pending.

TBone (17990) - Pori, FINLAND - DEC 30, 2006
Bottled (BB 01/2007)
Honey golden color, small white head. Estery fruity aroma with banana and light sour notes. Fruity (grape, tangerine), earthy, notes of mould. Quite full palate, sweetness in the aftertaste. Yes, it is a saison.

bhensonb (15603) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 27, 2006
Aroma of citrus, dusty flowers, and yeast. Dark gold color, fluffy white head and some lacing. Starts with a tast of clove and coriander, sweet/tart in the middle, and spice and hop at the end. The spice overrides any hoppy citrus notes. Very refreshing, a good bit more flavor than most saisons from the Flanders region (in the widest sense).

Ratman197 (15204) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - FEB 5, 2006
On tap @ Falling Rock poured a clear gold with a large, lastin white head. Aromas of pineapple, yeast, light spice and a hint of mustiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of apples and a hint of spice with a clean, dry finish.

12 ounce bottle from a Folly Pack, from Harris Teeter Hollymead, opened 8/29/14. Pours a clear yellow color with a large foamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of bready malts, spice, yeast, honey, citrus zest. The taste is spicy, herbal hops, apples, bready malts, honey, yeast, spice. Medium bodied, moderate lingering spice. Solid beer.
