Bomber. Pours dark mahaogany with a beige head that falls after a minute or two. Aroma is pleasantly nutty, a little caramel. Taste is bittersweet, roasty and savory with the dandelions standing out the most; I also get clove and wood. Carbonation is medium and so is the body. Interesting. Addendum: this beer really started to grow on me. I find myself craving it the next day! Upping my scores...

Bottle:   Deep reddish caramel, thin to moderate sudsy tannish head, little lacing.   Grainy straw aroma, soft sweetness, a little whole wheat breadiness.   Yeah, real grainy.   Soft malty breadiness on the tongue,
soft sweetness, a little caramel, slightly grainy.   Can’t say I am a big fan so far.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Sweet bready and grainy finish.   Maybe this is Buckwheat?   I thought only horses at that?

On tap at Apex, pours a dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is subtle, with buckwheat above anything. Flavour brings out dates upfront, pillowed by the buckwheat and more dry dark fruits. Extraordinary depth to this one, characterized by the dark fruit and dry qualities of the buckwheat. Really well-rounded and a pleasure to drink. Excellent.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thin fast-dying tan head. Aroma of chocolate, figs, roasted malt, cola and buckwheat perhaps. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong roasted malt flavour with a bunch of sugars, some banana and clove yeast flavours with a hint of chocolate, peat and more buckwheat and bitterness. Aftertaste shows some bitterness, roasted malt, pit fruits, apples and a bit of yeast flavours. Overall, a nice and complex beer with some deeper flavours and a lot of depth - with a lot of buckwheat and bitter malt notes. Bottle from Aaron (fucken a!), shared @ Oakquinox 2013. Dark amber pour with an off-white head. Nose is dominated by bread and toast. Some buckwheat, very light spice and fruit. No real dandelion character. Decently roasty. Some sweet molasses and bread to the flavor. Very toasty and moderately roasty. There’s a touch of dandelion, some buckwheat, and hints of fruit. A light spice character and yeast as well.
