Our Trippel Belgian Style Ale (pronounced triple) opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. The Three Graces hand-painted on the label are Zeus’s daughters Aglaia (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth) and Thalia (good cheer). In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

Do not let the golden color of this beer fool you. Like most other Trippels, this brew drinks very easy and the color belies the alcohol content. Yeast, fruity esters, and a little bit of grass and hoppiness. The flavors are quite intriguing, malt and perhaps vanilla (did this beer see some oak?), citrus from hops, and a hint of spice. Quite a brew, and one of their best.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2017 For it being a 8.5 ABV it goes down very smooth, best Belgium style I’ve had

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2017 Draught at Monk’s Kettle. Amber color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, hops, toast, a bit of ripe fruits and earthy notes. Bitter finish with citrus, hops, earthy notes, toast and a bit of ripe fruits. Okay tripel.

Pours up clear gold in color with a white head and nice lacing. Spicy Belgian yeast aroma. Taste is Belgian with candied fruit like apricot and some ripe berries. Some weird flavors here, like a rubber plant. A little boozy. Not horrible but there are a lot better tripples out there.

12-ounce bottle pours crystal clear golden yellow with a spritz of white head and lacing; moderate visible carbonation rising in glass. Aroma: honey, caramelized white sugar, lemon, floral, orange, bubble gum, barnyard. Flavor: malt-forward (candied sugar, honey) with banana, clove, candied citrus peels, white and black pepper. Mouthfeel: medium- to full-bodied, oily, creamy, yet with a dry, clean finish. Very tasty.

From Dec 2006

Poured from Growler a hazy medium gold witha largish head of foam that sharank fairly slowly leaving just a fine broken layer with plenty of lacing.

The smell is all nice and yeasty and fruity with undertones of sweet malt.

The taste is very fruity up front..dark fruit is hitting my taste buds very nicely. That's followed by a healthy yeast taste and a good clove and banana presence that builds on the complexity of this Trippel. It finishes fairly dry but I can still pull some malt sweetness out of it. Very good. I've been drinking the bottles for a long time and they never disappoint me but this fresh tap in a Growler really brings out the best in this brew. And all for under US$10 and that includes the Growler itself! Oh. and It would be remiss of me not to say that the 8.5%abv is hidden very well..just some warming once it's gone down.

Bottom line: A very tasty Trippel that is very good in bottles but is even better on draft. I highly recommend it.

Bottle from Merchants. Aroma is banana, clove, tropical fruit, booze, slightly floral, some earthiness, decent. Appearance is golden, white head, unfiltered. Taste is clove, tropical fruit, banana, spicy, earthy, esters, boozy, decent. Mouthfeel is medium body, light crisp carbonation, clove and tropical fruit booze aftertaste. Overall, I've had worse.

Very nice trippel. A bit hoppy but really pleasant to drink. Only "complaint" would be a slight alcohol taste...but that is only if I was looking for a flaw.

An interesting beer, hoppy but not overly so. Notes of pepper and spices which makes sense as it is brewed with coriander. Probably not one I would buy but would enjoy it anytime I drank it ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
