Bottle. A small 375ml. Barrel aged stout. Strong luscious aroma of dark fudge, chocolate, booze. Like a bourbon soaked chocolate cake.taste is strong in booze, with a slight you’re mean aspect to it. Shows strong chocolate flavors. A slight dark chocolate, but stopped short of being coffee or roast. A dry beer finished, with a little residual sweetness perceived from the alcohol and barrel. gregwilsonstl (2615) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 13, 2016
Thick chocolate. Black. Subtle oak. These are the kinds of BA stouts I enjoy....it isnt a booze bomb, and then bourbon is super subtle. Thanks bu11zeye for this generous throw in! User37895 (3042) - - AUG 30, 2015
Bottle, 2012 or 2013, at CT Hops for Hope. A little embarassed, haven’t had the straight up IST, ah well. Pour was deep dark brown-black, thin tan to chocolate colored head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, and dark fruits. Flavor followed, faint roast underneath it all, touch of coconuts. Bourbon was tame enough to let the base beer come through. Silky smooth mouthfeel, also short of sticky or cloying. Good stuff.

Bottle split at Chriso Easter tasting thanks to Leighton #1075/1400, 04/04/15.
Black topped with a decent tan swirl.
Nose is chocolate, toffee, shades of emulsion paint, light bourbon trace.
Taste comprises rich chocolate, big bourbon hit, molasses, toffee fudge.
Medium + body, soft carbonation, oily feel, drying close peppered with bourbon strokes.
Decent enough BBA impy.

ChrisOs Easter Tasting. Opaque black - brown beer, good tan head. Palate is light and semi dry, mild fine carbonation. Good dark chocolate malts and dark fruits and fruity bourbon. Mild lactose and toasted coconut. Semi dry finish. Nice.
Bottle at ChrisO, big thanks to Leighton. It pours opaque deep brown with a tiny tan head. The nose is sweet, juicy, rich roast, vanilla, toasted stuff, chocolate, booze and fudge. The taste is rich roast, earth, toasted coconut, vanilla, chocolate, bourbon, oak and warming alcohol with a slick finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Drinks smooth. A solid bourbon impy for sure, just a step back from the big boys though. The_Osprey (8731) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 6, 2015
Bottle share at ChrisO’s. Black, very small head. Aroma is black forest gateau, boozey, liquorice and molasses. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is big and sweet, treacle, coconut, rounded malts, dry woody finish. Quite nice. A bit on the sweet side, but not overly so. Leighton (22056) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 6, 2015
Bottle shared at chriso’s Easter 2015 tasting - London. Vintage 2013. Picked up in a trade in the USA. Pours oily black-brown with a foamy, brown head. Good snout, some vanilla, baking cocoa, roast. Medium to big sweet flavor with oily chocolate, light earthy bitterness, raisins, vanilla. Full bodied with fine carbonation and creamy mouthfeel. Warming finish with lots of dark chocolate, baking cocoa, roasted malts, liquid vanilla, caramel. Very drinkable, smooth. I was quite impressed by this one - much better than expected. Wonderful.
