There are times you drink a beer on a train and those are the times you cherish. This one was potent and relatively pleasant for a 11% barleywine.
The aroma is malty and sugary caramel. The appearance is TBD, seen in mouth it looked reddish? The taste is a slightly syrupy caramel degrading into a slightly smoky malt with a strong nose of alcohol. It wears the 11% strongly so is not the slightest chug in town. Good for a train ride as a prelude to a chaotic travel scenario that all worked out in the end. BuckeyeBoy (8860) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 28, 2017

Bottle… Clear golden pour with dirty orange highlights and a small, fat-bubbled, white head. Decent retention. The aroma is a marriage of caramel and earthy hops. Full-bodied and fatty with mild carbonation. The flavor emulates the nose while presenting a nice balance between bitter and sweet. Lengthy, moderately sweet finish. Bottle courtesy of ctipping!
