Pours a three finger white head fades slowly leaving some lace. Slightly hazy amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is complex maybe sherry and flavor is sweetish sherry. Different scotch ale expecting more dark fruit. High ABV is hidden. Not cheap - $7.99 for a 500ml bottle from Julio’s Liquors Westborough, Ma.

Bottle. Amber/orange pour. Not really getting the Scotch Ale here. It’s dry, some what spicy, and has some hoppy characteristics...

500ml bottle in a thistle. Pours deep amber with a lacy, cream-colored head. Aroma of roasted, caramel malts, some light fruit, and a little hops and alcohol. Flavor about the same with a nice caramel malt note. Almost a wine like texture. A good Scotch ale.

Bottle. Moderate aromas all around, with cookie for the malt, herbs for the hops, meat for the yeast, with hints of smoke, wine, date, toffee and a faint note of vinegar. Head is small, frothy turning wispy with bigger bubbles, slightly off-white, with fair lacing and good legs and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and acidic and moderately to heavily bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, oily with a lively carbonation. It finishes astringent and very dry. It’s just missing a few things I expect in a Scotch Ale, but it’s complex and worth trying.

Bottle. Pours orange/amber, with a white head. Not much going on in the aroma. Malt and fruit. Flavor is malt, hops, fruit, and alcohol.

500 ml bottle. Pours a mostly clear dark amber body with a one finger fizzy beige head that slowly faded. The nose is slightly sweet, lots of toasted malt, and a nice fruity ale yeast undertone. No alcohol apparent in the nose at all. The flavor is hugely malty with lots of brown sugar. It really reminds me of ’sugar in the raw’ packets. Some nice lightly peaty and toasted maltiness on the finish. The alcohol makes itself pretty well known in the flavor, but it’s not overpowering or boozy though. Full bodied and slightly clingy with soft fizzy fine carbonation. Not bad, a little too sweet maybe, but pretty enjoyable.

12/27/10. 500mL bottle. Cloudy red pour with a light off-white head that’s gone fast. Huge caramel, vanilla, and more on the aroma... borderline BA aroma... Sweet malty flavor with chocolate, vanilla, and more. Again, this reminds me of BA, with some burn. Don’t know much about this brew... Is it BA? Pretty nice!

Bottle, thank vferg for sharing. Brown pour with a bit of tan head. Scotch, sweet caramel, and spiced aroma. Flavor of vanilla, caramel, slight hop and bit bit of etoh. Abv confirms this.

Courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Pours hazy copper with tan head. The aroma is a mix of spicy and earthy hops as well as spicy oak like notes followed by sweet malts and crystal malts. The taste is a bold combination of spicy hops, spicy cedar like wood notes, earthy hops and then sliding into citrus hops midway to the finish. Yummy brew.

Pours deep clear amber into a thistle. Off-white head quickly recedes to hug rim leaving spot lacing. Dark caramel and vanilla aromas. Roasted nuts and dark caramel upfront turning to a burning vanilla and bourbon finish.
