Bottle #448. Pours a hazy amber with some sparse carbonation. Initially smells of melon, citrus, grapefuit before yielding to some sage elements. Tastes of dry malt, some tequila, melon, pepper, bitter, hay, some funky elements on the finish. Very different and enjoyable. I like Gandhi-bot slightly more, but this was a successful experiment. portableparty (2367) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - AUG 16, 2011
Bottle to snifter thanks (DalzAle). Pours is hazy bright amber with floaties and a white soapy head that fades to a collar. Aroma is awesome peaches and appricots, passion fruit. Taste is bitter pine and grapefruit with a subtle caramel sweetness. Palate is full and creamy with a chaulky dry finish. Awesome, please give me more! riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - DEC 21, 2010
Wonderful nose. Citrusy, juicy, tequillay. Smells amazing. Light dank, earth, dough, more citrus. Pours hazy orange, great head sticky lace. Oranges, lemons, limes tequilla, pale malt, dough. Earth . Lingering citrus, light tequilla. Like a tequilla sunrise or taking a shot followed by a lime. Really damn good! blklab2007 (2120) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 3, 2010
bottle from the brewery #257/713. pour is a hazy golden wheat color with a thin covering of off white head and light visible carbonation. aroma has a nice fresh dry hop, citrus, hits of tropical, sticky resins, raw oak barrels, tequila in the back round, and a nice complementing sweetness. mouth feel is thick and covers well but the carbonation is a bit on the soft side. I think the yeast needs a little more time to kick in. flavor has a definite tequila thing and it is a little woody and quite unique. the hops seem a bit thicker than in the Gandhi Bot and there is a little more bitterness. citrus does not go unnoticed and there is a hefty cocktail of hops in general in here. the finish lingers nicely with an almost salty dry thing. Bottle thanks to Cletus! Hazy apricot colored pour, little carbonation, tons of floaties and an aroma of booze and bitter blood oranges. Flavor is some bitter hops, then mellow tequila, more bitter orange, apricot and finished with a boozy tequila margarita aftertaste. Extremely unique and enjoyable, really glad I got try this one. Trade big for this one if you need to.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured cloudy amber color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex hop, lemon and pepper aroma. Medium to full body with slick smooth texture and flat carbonation. Heavy bittersweet flavor with a heavy spice bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout brew.

500ml bottle (2014 release - bottle 773/1000) in a tasting glass. Pours hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma of citrusy and piney and floral hops, some oak and tequila, pale and caramel hops, with some hints of alcohol and some dough. Flavor the same with a nice blend of the base beer and tequila barrels. Average texture. A cool interpretation of the base beer. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 23, 2014
Bottle (thanks to goodbyeohio for sharing this on his birthday)... Poured amber with a moderate head. Aroma of bitter hops with tequila-like alcohol. Seemed polarizing within our group, but I enjoyed this one. The bitterness and booziness with barrel characters seemed to work well for me here. Resinous hops, light fruits, and cirtus-like hops we still showcased even with the underlining tequila character going on. iowaherkeye (2703) - Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, USA - NOV 29, 2010
$10 from the brewpub earlier today, 500mL #214/713. Slightly hazy medium gold body with a small creamy light beige white head, swirling to a thick film and thin sheet. Definite tequila and oak in the nose, but lacking the caramel from bourbon barrels. More peppery with a light fruity sweetness. There are also some herbal hops and the tangerine catty notes from the Simcoe (much stronger as this warms to room temp). I’m having fun nosing this. Flavor continues with the tequila notes, the hops still present, but not terribly so. Light caramel malt sweetness shows up to help the big dry wood and drying alcohol. The tequila barrel makes this a lot boozier than it actually is--the base beer can’t be any more than 8.5-9%--how much ABV could the tequila barrel add? Dry with earthy tangerine bitterness peaking at a 6-7 and lingering. Low smooth carbonation with a medium body. The gf said no, but I say yes--interesting to say the least. 500 ml bottle poured a hazy golden amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of tequila, oak, carmel, orange, pink grapefruit and light pine. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of tequila, oak, vanilla, biscuit, orange, pink grapefruit and light pine with a crisp dry lingering oaky tequila finish. Way better than I expected!
