Really looking forward to this going in...pours a clear copper color with high level of effervescence and a fairly strong white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is all about spicy apple cider, but there is something else in there, maybe some clove, or cinnamon...either way, very nice, and a step above any ciders I have tried. Flavor is both sweet and tart apple, caramel malts, a hint of wheat, and a brown sugary flavor that kicks in near the ends...beautiful...just what I pictured. Superbly drinkable...if I rated palate solely based on drinkability, this would be the easiest 5 ever, but it is a bit more carbonated than I would like. Biggest qualm...the fact that NG made this their unplugged offering, because at this ABV and this drinkability, a 4 pack can disappear quite quickly. Next time, make this the standard offering and the Alt the unplugged version...Prosit MatSciGuy (907) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 6, 2008
[Bottle] Pours a clear deep gold with a small head of large bubbles that dissipates quickly. Aroma is fresh squeezed apple juice, somewhere between tart and sweet. Flavor is very much like a really nice fresh apple juice with the finish revealing that it is still in fact beer, with a lingering maltiness with a little touch of tartness. Easily the best apple brew Ive come across, and even my girlfriend likes it - thats a compliment to be sure. incutrav (577) - Woodbury, Minnesota, USA - DEC 3, 2008
UPDATED: JAN 15, 2009 Well if anyone drinking this could ever tell this from a really good apple juice, i would be shocked. Bascially the beer equivilant to biting into a fresh, Door county apple. Goes down really fast. I really dont get any beer like qualities at all in this, but being a fan of apples in general, this was up my alley. Compared to Furthermores Fallen Apple, this was far and away better. sersdf (1020) - chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 30, 2008
thanks to cmubeerman, i’ve had this a few times now. it’s pretty straightforward pure apple beer, but it’s good, too. 3.8%? pathetic, but i guess that’s the point. it basically tastes like carbonated apple juice. candyish. hardly any beer character, although andrew says that comes out more when its colder. damned drinkable, tho. thanks goes out to pfoxyjohn for this thanksgiving day treat... Pours a dark tan autumn brown ... good white foam ring... wonderful fresh bitten apple scent ... is so delicious, i can never enjoy a cider again because this is what an apple libation should be, no more - no less, the standard if you will... i vote the apple to be the fruit of the year!

Ok, maybe more of a cider then a beer but damn, this stuff is just pure greatness. There is enough caramel malt finish that you get the beer part and it gives it a caramel apple finish. Just pure drinkability, and I will go through all the cases I bought in no time. Amazing. noncaloric (684) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 20, 2008
Aroma is apples, sweet and a little musty. Pours a clear orange, thin white head spotty lace. Flavor is more and more apples, a little more cider than ale, but oh, the is palate so there, dry, chalky prickly, puckering. The beer is really more to be felt than tasted.

12oz bottle split with Ann. Clear, filtered orange color. Cidery, and full of apple taste. A little weak in ABV and body, but the full, natural apple taste is really quite impressive. Good stuff, but lacks a touch of depth. That said, this stuff is paradise juice. theisti (4138) - Kansas, USA - NOV 19, 2008
12 oz bottle shared by John. Pour is the color of cider, orange golden, cloudy, then turned pretty clear, with a smallish white head. Aroma of sweet apples, again, very much cider. Taste is the apples, sweet, cidery. Well made, but pretty much all about apples. Thanks John That1Guy (2236) - Colorado, USA - NOV 19, 2008
Crushed with Jakebra. Kinda like the middle of those suckers with the caramel without the caramel, and it’s beer instead of candy, which makes it excellent. A great fruit beer.
