Pours a murky, dark amber-brown with a diminishing off-white head. Initial earthy yeast aromas. Strong aromas of apples come through and build as the head fades. Very brilliant apple flavors while staying complex. The malt and hops tame the apple, keeping it from tasting like pure apple juice. Malt has flavors of caramel and brown sugar, perfect compliments to the apple. Body is medium, creamy with a lively carbonation. I wish they would keep brewing this. jeffin7 (613) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - NOV 11, 2004
Pours a transparent read with a thin head. Aroma of cider, malt, caramel, and a slight pie spice. Flavor is of cider, malt, caramel, and spice. Excellent fresh crisp taste. A little sweet near the end but excellent none the less. jlruthven (612) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 23, 2012
Bottle, pours brown-hinted gold. Good, lively head that quickly dissipates to almost nothing. Nose is fresh apples, a bit of sour apple Jolly Rancher as well. Just apple apple apple. Taste follows suit: crisp, fresh apples, hints of cider. Straightforward, wonderful. weitz15 (601) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 29, 2012

Appearance: Brilliantly clear light amber, fizzy white head with slightly below average retention, some spotty lacing.
Flavor: prominent apple flavor, slight sweetness, a touch of light grains. Not a lot of complexity, but very good.
Palate: medium body, fairly high carbonation, nice crisp finish.
Overall: an excellent, extremely drinkable fruit ale. Delicious.
This isn’t exactly what I was expecting when getting ready to drink this, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Pours a pale golden light brown with medium off-white head. Aroma and taste match with sweet apple, roasted malt, and slightly nutty. Makes for a refreshing change-of-pace brew. ChazyRPh (583) - Chazy, New York, USA - DEC 25, 2004
Bottle, shared with my brother. Wonderful mulled apple cider aroma. Reminds me of an autumn hayride. Clear copper color with virtually no head. This is beautiful. Reminds me of a nice cider, sweet to start, lending to some tartness and finishing mildly sweet. It is no wonder that this is rated so well. Ataraxia (582) - California, USA - APR 12, 2014
Clear, golden amber color, off-white head. Musty aroma of apple, dough, and bread malt. A nice blend of tart and sweet flavors. Lively and crisp, very light in body, and a clean finish. incutrav (577) - Woodbury, Minnesota, USA - DEC 3, 2008
UPDATED: JAN 15, 2009 Well if anyone drinking this could ever tell this from a really good apple juice, i would be shocked. Bascially the beer equivilant to biting into a fresh, Door county apple. Goes down really fast. I really dont get any beer like qualities at all in this, but being a fan of apples in general, this was up my alley. Compared to Furthermores Fallen Apple, this was far and away better.
